    Well the Maxxis MT’s have passed a critical test.

    I was driving the Supreme Leader around running errands this morning and she forgot that I had diffferent tires on the truck. I didn’t ask about them until we got back home on purpose.

    After a couple hours of running around town I asked her if she noticed any difference in the ride quality/noise level between these and my Grabber ATX’s and she said she forgot I had new tires on the truck until I mentioned it and that they sound the same.

    I really am shocked at how well these preform on the road so far for a MT and I can’t wait to get them out on the trail.

    I swear by Maxxis MT's.... technically I am still running a set and would continue to except a size I have been waiting for finally was made and I switched brands to get that size... so now I get to roll the dice with a brand I've never ran...

    I can see why you like them so much! It’s still very early but I could see this being my go-to tire from now on, with maybe just an upsize in the future.

    When are you getting the new set of tires mounted so we can finally see what they are!?

    Was supposed to this weekend.... but finding someone around here that actually wants to do the work is near impossible. At least without having to pay right at $50 per tire....

    It's bad enough I have actually started looking at purchasing a swing arm tire changer machine myself. I just don't have any room for it...

    Yeah I hear ya. My local shop said it would be $40 per tire and then when I went to pay it was $200. I’m not an astronaut but I don’t think those numbers add up.

    @TacoFMS @Road_Warrior

    A friend of mine who has a shop which can do the tire swap and all for me. Such as balancing, swapping wheels/tires, etc.

    Yeah, mechanic math is even sketchier than door to door salesman math...

    Reasonably priced and good work?

    Sorry, the mechanic math was supposed to go after Road's quote. Not in the middle of yours.

    Are you local to this area?

    I don’t have anything planned for the near future. I’m considering doing sound deadening in the doors because I like listening to music and the Tacoma has always been a kind of noisy vehicle.

    The next big things I would do would be go up to these Maxxis tires in a 33” when this set wears out. If I do that, I’ll probably regear at the same time. But that wouldn’t be for a year or two.

    I’m really loving this current set up. It’s super clean and capable at the same time.
