Looking to get a G2 four-door long bed repainted. No damage at all, just sun fade to the clearcoat.

Anyone have any good SoCal recommendations, as well as average cost. Keeping the original color so door jams won’t be an issue.

Willing to strip window, moldings, headlights, and all exterior plastics to save a couple bucks.

Do you have a budget? A full vehicle respray, done right, is quite expensive. I'd expect $8000-12000 or thereabouts (for something at or near OEM quality). You could probably find some $3500-5000 options but you may not be happy with the results. Kinda depends as everyone has different standards when it comes to paint. Doing some of that prep work like you mentioned would be very helpful if you can find a shop that will let you do it that way, some won't want to mess around with that.

I used a guy that did someone elses truck here in SD. Pretty good quality body and paint work for $3k, minimal overspray.

That sounds like a pretty good option.
A couple years ago I had my 2013 DCSB repainted in Metallic Grey before I installed the camper. Same issue, clearcoat was looking bad on roof and hood. It was done by FoaF in Mexicali for about $1500 + ~$600 Mexican Insurance (full replacement coverage). Took 3 weeks. It wasn't a perfect job but looked decent and has held up very well over the last 2.4 years, though it now has many, many brush scratches as I do get out in the sticks sometimes. If you're open to having it done in Mexico let me know and I'll see if the guy still does this (he works at a shop but did mine at his home).
