I’m surprised more people don’t have this experience. Medium is very aggressive in my opinion.

Most of these posts are from new users, and you can't post in the performance forums until your account is 60 days old.

Where is that rule posted? I have never saw it. I have read the code of conduct, read before posting, and the buy, sell, trade rules but, I have never saw anything like what you are referring too here. My observation is the same tuning group users are referring to getting brought up, over and over while rarely does any of the other tuners. I would believe if there were a rule like you state, it would be for "new tuners" or new vendors, not the average forum user looking to ask a question. Ski

If tuned users are starting "gripe" threads as self-advertising, they need to rethink their strategy. If I weren't tuned, and read weekly threads about tune issues, I wouldn't be considering a tune.

Also, FWIW, I experience the same things with a KD tune, so its not brand specific, just the nature of tuning. Its why all the brands offer different throttle settings, and why a new version or new brand pops up every 4-6 months.

I dont know if its posted, but if you try to comment or create a thread in the Performance forum it doesn't let you and says your account must be at least 60 days old to post in this forum. I tried. Quite frustrating when you want to ask questions in threads already there and you can't.

So based on rules, if tune questions come up we get banned for stating facts or talking about what we like? Seems like folks on here talk about brands of tires, wheels, shocks, floor mats, head units, toppers, seat covers, belts, filters, oils, and more than I can think of. Why not tunes? I’ve purchased stuff based on what I’ve read on these posts. Thanks to all who share their thoughts and likes.

Go to the "Chat with Staff" section and ask. They can tell you the post restrictions for any section.

The mods and admins made the regular forums a tune free zone, due to all the bickering, and self promoting of tunes, and tuning vendors. People associated with the tuner or any vendor really, giving only positive info, and bumping threads to the top for exposure, and more business for the vendor. This was highly frowned upon, so they made the tuning forum.

My observation is, rarely does any of the other vendors "possible customers" come on the regular forum and ask questions. But, one vendor in particular about every 7-10 days or so, has their name and new thread brought up. Just seems convenient. Ski

Just to make sure I'm following - you think a certain tune vendor plants new tune threads via different TW members who aren't yet customers, or recruits different existing customers to pose as 'possible customers' in new tune threads, roughly every 7-10 days?

Man, I love a good conspiracy, but this tin foil might be too big for my little small-brained head. I think what is more plausible, is the certain vendors tune is so bad, that issue threads pop up every 7-10 days; or the opposite, its so good (or just arguably successful at selling), that people are asking about it every 7-10 days. Imagine if Toyota just nailed it from the start, we wouldn't even have to deal with the tuning community and their hidden agendas :gossip:

Mild Drive/Spicy ECT on TRD Sport suspension/tires.

I have not tried 4Hi with ECT engaged...ECT works fine in 2Hi and accelerates nice off the line.

When I first started I had medium and it was very sensitive on the throttle...so Mild has worked for me since 2022.

By a dude who thinks OTT is conning us all by starting threads complaining about OTT.

2wd/4Hi/4Lo will all share the same throttle sensitivity. Be that in ‘normal’ or with ‘ECT’ engaged.

4Lo will have a throttle limiter applied where 2wd/4Hi will allow the full range of throttle.

Something to keep in mind when settling on your preferred throttle settings. Please keep 4wd use in mind when you decide what’s best for you.

Honestly these threads basically have a "TITLE" that states what the OP wants to talk about. If you don't like the topic don't open the thread and move along. I'm sure sooner or later someone will talk about this topic. It's clear everyone have their own choice to pick and choose what they wanna read on here.

I just want to know if other invididuals experience the same issue I have. Didn't know I was trying to promote any tune or trying to cause problems for anyone.

Hell, at least you don't get banned from a thread because you criticize something you don't like about a tune. Let Justin know, he'll make it right.

I got mine retuned and have not yet taken it out, but I'm sure it will improved my drivability due to the fact of what Justin already stated about throttle sensitivity for 2wd, 4hi, and 4lo. Thank you.

Definitely let us know how it performs for you. It's good info for anyone considering a tune to consider.
