The operative word "YET". Once congress figures out a way to take more of this money from us and not piss off the voters it will happen. Most of us voters have such a short memory so any major change will happen after an election. For a bunch of old farts, congress really does dislike seniors.

I am not familiar but you are probably old enough to have a Federal government retirement plan prior to TSP. Check to see how any changes will affect your old plan prior to making the changes. I do have family members that worked for the Federal Government and retained the old plan without converting to the TSP. Seemed to work out well for them.

    Nice work with the pavers.

Good morning. Ordered a sliding screen door last Thursday and it was delivered yesterday. Will put it together today. Taking the Tacoma to the shop today for new tires, shocks, and a cooling system flush. Hope I do not need brakes or a TPMS module replacement. My day is filled to the max.

Good morning gentlemen. Hope your weekend was decent. We had great weather in the Mid-Atlantic region, just a little windy on Saturday. Sorry @BkerChuck , thought I had set up a quote on your post.

I have FERS and TSP. I have both but they are separate. Don't really want to touch the TSP but would rather roll it into something else. It's just finding what that is.

    Morning all:

Tom, I had posted this before, a wall street guru turned something like 50K into 5 million dollars in his ROTH IRA, some in the govt. already didn't like that you could make that much money without paying any taxes on it.
Mind you that that's an exception and not the rule, if everyone could do that, they would either change the ROTH IRA rules or eliminate the Roth IRA's completely and only have traditional IRA's. Just like the schedule G (income averaging) that I had already mentioned, it went from 5 year averaging, to 3 year averaging, to no longer available! :( It worked, was fair, but when they saw it was costing them tax $$$$ they did away with it.

:pccoffee: Good morning Porch Pals & Sue! Grey days to start the week, but small chance of real rain. Need to pickup some softener salt, then a couple wiring issues on the truck. If I get to it, time to start getting the drip system in the greenhouse going.

Blooms are starting to cover the little Catalpa - they are very pretty, and almost guarantee a windy rainstorm as soon as the tree gets covered. Can only enjoy them for a week or so every year.

    20240414_144343.jpg

And, not the Poppies the wife expected, but nice nonetheless. I almost whacked them down when they started - without flowers they look like slightly lighter green Dandelions!

 sixtys/wannabes/unclesammers. I submitted our taxes last week, congratulating myself on wrapping it all up before the last second. This morning over coffee I got to thinking, hey, what about that other form -- the one I did last year, then realized that it wasn't due until this year? OOOPPPPSSSSS. So I dug it out, discovered I had made some mistakes, redid it, and got it packed up and postmarked. Whew! If there was an "I need a drink" emoticon I'd put it right here.

Today’s weather is mixed, but last night’s rain should help kickstart my vege seeds I got planted. I only hope it holds the soil together during the 45 mph winds we are suppose to have later! YIKES!
Sadly it loks like today will be mostly spent indoors…OH BUT WAIT…I’m meeting a young bud for breakfast this morning to catch up! Perfect!
    Have a great day everyone!

Martin: My BIL and sister rolled it into an IRA with their brokerage. Worked out really well for them.

Carl: You know the government would do just that. Makes you wonder about the relationship of the IRS and congress.

Susan, sorry. Hope it is not too expensive. We had two trees removed and the stumps ground down last September. The cost was $5800. The pain of spending the cash goes away quickly. The knowledge that a tree or tree limb will fall and damage the house does not go away.

Good morning gentlemen. Have a great day.

Good morning. Home by myself today with no Tacoma. The Tacoma is in the shop for new tires and a PM session. Put together the screen door and installed the door yesterday. Might have taken me three times as long but I am still able to do the work. Been to the gym and gassed up the Avalon this morning. Will do three loads of laundry and have a chair yoga session. Gong to debone a turkey breast and put it on the smoker for dinner tonight.
