Yea when I was ripping some of that stuff out to do my little 1/2 bath I noticed it was little 2' x 2' pieces. Pretty neat to see the differences over the years. They don't build them like that anymore!

 

I pulled the laryngitis card this morning and lost all of my voice. No coffee for me to fix this feeling.

 

On the bright side of this morning, I made everybody at my work laugh when I called in sick. I had to try so hard to talk and make enough noise over the phone to be heard, that I ended up squeaking. And to top that off, when I started typing things out for my wife to read so she knew what was going on, she started typing her responses back! I had a "wtf" look on my face and pointed at my ears. I'm mute today not deaf

Some reason it makes this weird whistling noise when you get on the throttle. Strangest darn thing...

Positives, negatives, photo of the bed? What's the trailer hookup situation? 7 pin? Where is it? Good lord man. We want to know. (well, I do)

Oh, and Good morning Errybody.

 

It only has about 85 miles on it, so it's hard to tell.

So far the 2.4 turbo and 8 speed automatic are a much better combination than the 3rd gens 3.5 and 6 speeds combo. Shifting is really nice and with more low end torque it hardly downshifts on hills. Computer was saying I was getting 26mpg on the way home. However, I drive all state roads, no interstate. Also driving it easy for a little bit till it gets some miles.

Seating position is more truck like. Having 4 other Tacoma's this is going to take some getting used to.

This thing has so many gadgets and gizmos'. I barely touched the center line and the truck fought me and self corrected. Gotta learn how to turn that nonsense off.

Other than that, it's too new to tell anything else.

7 and 4 pin connector are built into the bumper just like the 3rd gens. This truck has a built in brake controller.

The bed is almost exactly like the 3rd gens, but does seem a little deeper.

Yea, it's all I need. Worst thing it will see is snow and I just need 4WD for that. Didn't ever use the locker in the previous Offroad's I had.

 

The one thing I want to know is about the driveline vibes at 25 and 45 that they all had since the stone age. Turbo.. Blucky Blucky.

 

Smooth as can be. The drive shaft is now a one piece and is about twice as round as previous gens

 

I noticed, still looks like a Chevy. Yech. I really dislike the "angular" look they've gone for. Bring back the square fuel mileage sucking brick with a soul.
