My AT3’s are at 12k miles and still loving them. I’m thoroughly impressed with how they handled this past winter and our PNW wet roads. They still feel smooth and after rotating them twice, they’re still fairly quiet. I found a sweet spot of 32 PSI and they behave well on the road and off.

The AT3s handled the wet & snowy roads of the PNW just fine? That's good to hear. I'm looking for a decent tire for rain, snow, mild off road. Seems like the AT3 or AT4 might be the ticket!

So it seems like getting caps for the 16 inch trd matte rims is a problem. Gentleman at the local parts department thought they came with them. Now I'm waiting for a call for caps as well. If I don't end up getting these, was there a newer version of them? I don't want to really go aftermarket yet.

Yea plenty of siping and decent tread block size. I ran 30 pounds all winter and it was very surefooted. Never once hydroplaned during the gulleywashers and when and if I hit a puddle at speed the truck behaved itself nicely. Going on a year with these tires and still happy. Time will tell how long they stay in good shape but for now the wear seems minimal

I've used Toyo ATIII in north east winters..0 issues but they won't be super good on extremely frozen pavement

Read back a good amount of this thread and what I'm gathering is these have different sidewalls depending on the load rating and or size? Anyone know what the 265/65/17 XL sidewalls look like?

    From what I’ve gathered:

    • All non-LT have a mild sidewall - (some seem to look a bit less mild than others)
    • LT have the potential to have an aggressive sidewall
    • Country of origin does NOT affect sidewall appearance (contrary to a statement by Toyo earlier in the thread several years ago)
    • All 16” wheel sizes seem to have a mild appearance, LT or not.
    • Seems like most LTs on larger than 16” wheels have an aggressive appearance.

    As requested (265/65R17 XL)

The 265/65R17 was definitely the most sporty feeling of all the Toyos I’ve tried. I want that size back but I feel like a poser on an Off-Road, and my OR wheels are in better shape than my Sport wheels so probably gonna stick to the 265/75s long term.

@BLtheP Thanks for the thorough response! You cleared up some of the things I was confused about after reading back in this thread. Stock Toyo A30 Sport tires are finally wearing bad and making me lose confidence, also living up to the name as I just barely passed 30k miles.. Was dead set on Wildpeaks for years until I saw the weight of the new A/T4W's.. These give me everything I need and still look aggressive enough for my liking and only weighing 2 lbs more than the stockers. Mine will be going on my SEMA wheels but run what you like, most people won't be able to tell sport wheels don't belong on an off-road or vice versa..

You’ll like the Toyos I think. They are great tires.

Hah, yeah I’ve had Semas, 20+ Sport, and now OR wheels on my OR. I personally liked the Sports the best but for some weird reason I wanted to put it back to stock. I don’t really know why. When I bought it, it came with Semas (PO or dealer must have swapped them), so at least I personally haven’t gone full circle on wheels.

Since 265/65R17 pics aren’t floating around a whole lot, here is what mine looked like with the same tire on the Semas

@BLtheP what's funny is while I thought the 20+ sport wheels were an improvement from previous sport wheels, I couldn't wait to get them off. Mine are mint with probably 2,000 miles on them when I swapped over to SEMAs.. Those matte gray SEMAs look really good on MGM.

Yeah, different strokes. I like some shiny contrast. Not a fan of single-color wheels. I definitely did not like the old Sport wheels, but I really liked the new ones that replaced them. Especially when outfitted with a nice looking tire.

The funny thing for me is, I thought the OR wheels were pretty bad at first. Then they grew on me. Now I really like them. Can’t explain it I guess, but I’m happy with them and have no plans to change going forward.

The SL rated are promised 65k and the LRE or 10 ply are promised 50k by Toyo.

That is pretty impressive numbers. I think I will go this route. My son told me that Falken WP at3s changed their compound years ago and they don`t last as long. Thanks DT
Pretty imprressive numbers. I think this will be my next choice !!!

The warranties as stated above by DT are 65K for SL and 50K for LT....however, historically, people have gotten seemingly much longer life from the LTs than the SLs. LTs are usually rated low on warranty because there is a chance LTs will be used on something like a 2500 or 3500 truck that does a bunch of towing and hauling. So naturally they will rate those for less. Those tires on a mid size usually do much better than the warranty.

As far as Toyos go, there are pros and cons for sure. The LT seem to last the longest, but have worse traction and they're heavier and louder. The SLs have super good wet and dry grip, but they don't seem to last as long. I've seen quite a few people on here say their SLs didn't last too long. I went for them anyways on my latest set, we'll see how it goes. I did have a previous XL set (same tread as SL) and they were at 22K and still doing okay. But no way were they gonna make it to 65K, not even close. Have to decide if you want long life and brute strength, or traction and weight savings and replacing them more often.

I've got a little over 12k on my SL 265/70/16 factory size AT3's. They've definitely gotten louder on the freeway and have started to experience some minimal slipping in the rain and on pavement surfaces with a lot of loose debris leaving from a stop.

I still like them, but I think I'm going to try an LT next time.

Think you’ll upsize to 265/75? They don’t make LT on the stock size for 16’s unfortunately.

Sadly the LTs were pretty bad leaving a stop in the rain. They were good at everything else though. I’m going to see how my new set lasts, if it makes 40K then I’ll probably go SL again, if not then probably back to LT and just suck it up on the wet performance. I’ve considered other tires but I just don’t really like anything else as much as the Toyos.
