It is amazing how expensive things have gotten since the last time I built my garage shop. Did it for about 15k the last time, would probably take 25k to get started again.

    sup!

Yeah, they dangled a promotion carrot in front of my nose for 2 years. Long story short ... every review, a new bench mark that I exceeded expectations on ... last review a copy/paste job from the previous review. That, and they guys they are hiring could never fill my shoes. All that management was doing was shifting their workload to me, on top of my own work load. Saved a huge emergency fund in preparation of the last review, and slapped down my 2 weeks at the end of the review.

Since, been trying to break into aerospace NASA support considering I live right next to Johnson Space Center, but proving really hard to get in (even with insiders helping me out).

Pandemic costs never went down...I can't imagine the raw material costs would be today either

What's they increase percentage of a Ti billet today over 2018?

Man that's tough. Don't blame you one bit for walking away.

Hopefully you will be making parts for NASA / SpaceX soon. Maybe even with a dickbutt or two on them...

That blows, but hell, they were not doing you an favors.

I know where there would be some aero work up the road in the Denton area?

I've applied a million times at Axiom, Intuitive Machines and Rothe ... we'll see what happens. I do have a pretty nice offer coming for a lead programmer role very close to my house, I may take it and just keep applying.

For sure, Dallas metro in general is really where all the jobs are at in my field. Houston is no slouch either.I just want to avoid relocating again, even though I would surely like the weather up there a bit more. But then again, hail ... don't see much of that here and I've seen on the news all the damage folks suffer up there.

    I completely hear you there.

It does make me laugh. What area of this country doesn't have some environmental condition that doesn't try to kill you. Earthquakes here. Weather in PA. Hail there. Tornados up north. Hurricanes to the east. Just fun stuff.

It's true. Still waiting on my first hurricane here, but I'm all ready with my generator and window guards that I made. We also had a pretty significant tornado about a year ago, which permanently closed the post office that I was using. But man, my bro-in-law lives in Tampa for 1.5 yrs now and he has faced 2, maybe 3 hurricanes already.

Nisqually was a wild ride. That and the light shaker in 1997 gave me an all day headache. Do not want to go higher in the scale.

Nope, in the original batch there were 2 heavy weight SS shift knobs made. Mine is one of the original 2. See post #32 Custom Billet Shift Knob for Toyota Tacoma (2-1/4" diameter). ***Utilizes factory boot.*** the post mentions about 2lbs. I guess I'd have to take it off to weigh it. and memory usually doesn't serve. Maybe its 2 pounds instead of 470 gr.

@7r41lbr34k3r the shift knob is still one of my favorite parts of the truck. I've been kicking around the idea of upgrading to a Tundra, but will never let go of the shift knob, as history has taught me that I'll regret selling. I'll still have the shift knob to remember it.

All stainless original V1 MT, 750g at least. There was one over 2lb, but it was a different shape and sold in NYC somewhere I believe.
