It looks so much like the wiring harnesses I would get with a note saying can you repair this??

Never getting any schematics or other information.

So I was putting my little mowing tractor up in the shed this evening. I always shut the doors when I take it out because last year, a skunk decided to wander in there while the door was open.
So, I mow and pull a stump to a new location and I go to put the tractor up, all hot and sweaty and covered with grass. I hop off the tractor, open the doors to the shed and I see one two three fishing worms slithering into the shed. Something did not look right so I leaned down to take a look and the fishing worms had triangular heads. It took me all of a half a second to turn around and see a four foot copperhead a few feet behind me. I luckily have a short handled shovel hanging on the inside of the door and I never really processed anything until the big snake was in several pieces and the babies were cut in two.
I have lived in snake country all my life and I guess an auto mode activated in me. After the fact, I processed that, in an instant, I recognized these were baby copperheads and knew the mom was close by and just went automatic.
I have no pics. I have pieces. I also know there are a bunch of babies still left around my shed. I think they are too young to survive on their own and other animals will eat them for dinner.
It was flipped out because I don't remember ever going into auto mode lol.

It all worked out! The other guy took over.

What is more fun is leaving JFK and finding yourself in New Jersey on I 78 no idea how I got that far with no clue and no fresh damage. Dragging a 53' trailer.

    Damn, Sam!

Fortunately venomous snakes aren't too common this far north.

That said I also keep the mower in a shed and now forever will think of this every time I go to the doors...

We have far more Rattle Snakes and Copper Heads then you think!

Just where did you get that idea?? I forget your not really a country person.

Your not that far North from me Temperature wise.

I know people love Snakes so I will not say how many I have helped leave this life.

If I could still walk I would take you and show you .

I don’t think baby snakes need there mommy after birth. I’d be sure to wear good boots and gloves while you’re in and around your shed in the near future. :quickdraw:

I don't hate snakes, I put them in the same category as yellow jackets. They can hurt you if you are not careful.
Black snakes are very beneficial and actually kill copperheads.

You know the babies are far more venomous than the adults, because they haven't learned how to control the venom discharge yet.
