I’m looking to make a far drive to purchase camper shell for 6ft bed Tacoma 3rd gen crew cab. Leer 122 shell for sale is on 3rd gen Tacoma access cab 6ft bed. Will this shell fit on my crew cab Tacoma? Manufacture is telling me it will rub against crew cab as it’s different size than access cab. I’m reading online threads that say it still works. Thanks for your insight!

I bought a used A.R.E shell for my 23 DCLB , the data plate on the shell said it was made for an access cab, it fits perfectly but it seems like it’s an inch or so too short, the front doesn’t fully sit on the front bed panel, but perhaps it’s just made that way. The beds are the same but the back of the cab maybe contoured different?

No change in gas mileage. My guess is it’s somewhere around 250lbs. Took 4 of us to move it but wasn’t terribly heavy.

Thanks! I used to think these high profile shells didn't look too stellar, but I'm slowly warming up to them. Mostly due to not having to crouch so low when im in there, and more cargo opportunities.
