When considering the bed length plan ahead. If you intend on purchasing used or second hand canopy/topper or tonneau covers check your local marketplace. I find most people in my area have 5 foot beds and parts for it are more plentiful. This may not always be the case but something to consider. I personally like my 5 foot bed and rarely have an issue hauling anything. I can even fit longer 2x4 diagonally in my bed.

Better not wait too long. You saw how quickly the 2023 Lunar Rock OR disappeared!

Btw, I have that same truck except mine is SWB. I wasn't a fan of Lunar Rock at first, but now I love it

When I traded in my 16 for my 24 it was sold in 2 days. If you find one you like… jump on it! Good luck!

I just looked at the ad online again. While it says 2023 TRD Sport, there are additional switches labeled MTS and Crawl and a knob between them. This leads me to believe it’s an OR, not a Sport model, correct? No hood scoop either.
It’s a 2+ hour drive to go see it. I emailed them for clarification.
The Sport sounded good to me for a smoother highway ride. But the other OR I drove last week actually felt OK on the highway test drive.

My 2012 off road has the rear diff lock buttons and no hood scoop, if that helps.

Yes that’s an Off-road. Some dealers are out to lunch when it comes to their stock.

Off-road at stock level is not bad on the freeway. Put aggressive tires or a 3 inch lift with 35s then you have a different truck. Getting an OTT Tune (changes transmission gear timing and acceleration) makes freeway travel nicer, but is not considered absolutely necessary.

The only annoying part to me about the highway driving with the OR (or seemingly any Tacoma, from what I read) is the inability of the truck to make up its mind as to what gear it wants to be in if a slight grade comes up (I rectify it for now by hitting ECT and just matting it if I want to move with purpose). Sure it feels a little floaty, but it ain't anything besides what I expect it to be. I specifically wanted a truck with 16s because the roads by me SUCK and I had the shit beat out of me with my last two vehicles with 19 and 20 inch wheels. Driving is near pillowy now.

OTT Tune. They change the way the computer makes decisions about gears. $600-ish I think.

    It is Off road model.
I had a 2005 Off road, DCSB OR, now I have a 22 Sport, also DCSB. Sport is nicer around town, but OR was just fine.

21 Tacoma TRD off-road with a 6 foot bed. I will never buy a truck with less than a 6 foot bed. There are too many uses for a longer bed. I usually am hauling outdoor gear and it's rarely empty. I think going for a 5 foot bed, you will regret it.

Still shopping around for a ‘21-‘23. I’m looking at a 2024 Tacoma Sport in Supersonic red with black wheels and man that really looks sharp! Pricey though. Total redesign. Any feedback on those? I wasn’t really looking for a 4cyl turbo but that’s all they come with now. Is this a new engine for Toyota or has it been proven in other Toyota models?

Check out . They’ll have a bit better info than the 4G sub here as of now. Still too many trolls in that sub but fun to read. There is some good info but if you’re buying there’s a broker on the 4G forum selling for $2,000-3,000 off MSRP.

I looked at this 2021 Army Green Tacoma yesterday. 36,000 miles so the bumper to bumper warranty is over. Speaking of bumpers, what would it cost to fix/replace this lower/rear bumper piece?

I am guessing if you go to a body shop, they will quote you like a grand or so. I'm sure if you wanted to upgrade it, you could buy one for a few hundred and do it yourself.

Also, too bad you weren't closer to the PNW, I'm selling my 21 tacoma.

I have an X-Cab I4, it is great around town and occasional highway, if I were doing more Highway or Hauling then I would get the V6.
