I mean even the Nissan Versa, the cheapest new car you can get, has a display screen. I don't think that is going to reduce the price much.

The 70-series is available without a head unit at all, still expensive

Rear view cameras are required by law in the US on all new vehicles since 2016.

You need a screen to view said camera.

    ^My 2010 SR5 4Runner doesn't, making do with beeping sensors. Glad I didn't pay new-truck money for it...

Nope, not going to lie and pretend I knew. I stand corrected and made a mistake. I'm too old and have no shame to admit faults. Thank you for schooling me and now I know.

In the video of the guys breaking the radiator they talk about the engine being kinda meh... When they were describing that they were on the highway, and that kind of tracks with my experience with most 4 cylinders turbo or not...loads of fun up to a point, then it kinda falls off. (short of a race car or motorcycle)

Same thing has been described by a couple of owners of the non hybrid 4th gen here as well.

I think they thought with the hybrid boost it would be more. Is it bad, who knows...it could be bad or it could be a case of high expectations not being met. It happens especially when you are in the hype business.

I will say those guys at least had a more original video than the 5,000 others upon release.

Sounds like the 4Runner wouldve checked the boxes you're desiring.

Odd that Nissan quit producing such a fine off road capable vehicle if it was such a stunner for the industry...

As I was driving by a Toyota dealer yesterday I spotted one 2024 Taco. 4 door TRD Sport. Turned around, it wasn’t locked so I sat in the front and back seat. As I was about to leave, a lady came out at a fast clip.

“you can’t sit in it, it’s sold”
to which I replied it wasn’t locked
to which she replied “it is now”

    she was pissed

I don’t know for sure. I asked one of the bigger YouTube reviewers who was promoting their videos on the Pro and TH Hunter this weekend if they would be announcing pricing also. She said she would be releasing pricing and details of all trims

Maybe I'm just not as well versed in visiting dealerships, but is it not common practice to NOT just open doors and hop in vehicles that don't belong to you? Sure, you don't need someone to hold your hand if you want to look around, but if you want to actually get in the vehicle, it would only seem like common sense to find an employee and ask permission.

Former dealer (cars not drugs), it's a 2 sided mindset. You want customers to look in the vehicles so you want them unlocked, but you don't want any theft, so you lock them.

99% of dealers I worked for had new units locked, pre-owned unlocked.

Premier Defense is a dealer add. Since they don't have it on the lot yet, tell them not to add it. If it is already on, the dealer cost is maybe $500 if you waive the warranty.

"Premier Defense Protection Package, includes 7 year warranty on exterior paint, protects against environmental damage, 7 year warranty on interior with stains, rips, tears and burns $3498."
