Not my fault I live in the Appalachian mountains. Wait yes it is :D.
I know what it is it's that bucket thing on front of the tractor right? Or the cart behind it.
EDIT: I meant to say buggy.

Used 30 second cleaner from HD. https://30secondscleaners.com/outdoor-cleaner

Results are excellent. Will see about next year, but it took about 1 1/2 gallons total for about $30 or so. Beats dragging around pressure washer.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Anyone interested in buying a JD X500 with 48" mower?
2011, kawasaki motor, 273 hrs on it.
I moved my led work lights over to newer mower but this one still has brackets on fenders, switch and wiring in place, and rear lights that shine down behind tires still there too.

My newer mower is bigger so I still like this x500 for being easy to get around flower beds and such but i also don't really "need" 2 mowers.

Asked over in the Milwaukee thread but figured you all might have used these.
Anyone here uses a recip saw as a substitute for light chainsaw work? Ive always been partial to Diablo blades regardless of type and have happily used Diablo demo demon carbide tooth pruning blade but I noticed that Milwaukee now has a similar AX carbide tooth pruning blade. Is the Diablo or Milwaukee drastically better then the other? Price is almost the same and the Milwaukee looks like a rebranded Diablo.

I got my soil test back today. Looks like I need to add a little fertilizer and some lime.

I wouldn't think either one would be any better than the other, comes down to personal preference

Ok that's not too bad then. I would think that you have experience with both of those. Lime you can get it dropped in bulk ground up/ powder by the ton or just buy bags. Fertilizer just bags. But I'm sure you know all this stuff.

You might just add lime, didn’t you till it under? You’d be surprised how adding lime and the decomposing of the existing will give you available nutrients. If I were you I’d do an experiment and fertilize half the garden but lime the whole garden and see what happens.

I know how to add fertilizer and till the soil, but this is my first attempt at a serious garden of my own. My previous gardening experience was with my dad’s garden. At the time I tended to view that experience as a punishment. Usually because I was doing something I should not have been doing, and Papa would send me to the garden to pull weeds. So instead of having a lesson in growing things I learned to hate gardens. Beyond a few tomato plants in recent years, I have never grown anything in the dirt.

My dad would make my brother and I pick up rocks for hours, he would drive the tractor through the field and point them out to us. I hated it. Now, our garden has rocks in it and I try to get them up. I ask the kids to go get some out yesterday but I try to make their effort worth a reward. Cole gets a little tractor time now :D

    upload_2024-4-17_10-14-22.jpg

I remember when I was about 14 I thought I was doing a good job for my dad while he was at the fire station one day. I got his tractor and disc and disc a spot he had previously disc. I thought it had weeds coming up in it, turns out he planted it in winter peas and I murdered them.

I’ll talk with my Aunt, I’m doing most of this under her direction. But I like the idea. I’m also mixing in the chicken coop waste since the fall. I’m definitely going to be doing another soil test this coming fall. To compare the results and prep for the next season better. For $30 I think they are a good investment.
