Bronze Oxide TRD Off Road Manual!

I didn’t realize I was getting two tone seats until the dealer sent pics. I really like them, adds a little interest to the otherwise all black/dark gray interior.

 

I canceled my deposit at my local dealer and searched the allocation tracker to find exactly what I wanted. I ended up buying crime a dealer 9hrs away. Put a deposit on the allocation and it arrived right on time in March.

My local dealer rarely gets manual transmission so I would have been waiting indefinitely.

 

Curious what you don’t like? I had a 2016 Sport Manual since new then briefly had a 23 Pro manual late last year. The 24 is better in every way (perhaps with exception of the way the rear seats fold but that is a result of the under seat battery placement on the hybrids). I’m glad I quickly parted with the 23 Pro. I regretted not waiting for the 24 and decided to sell it. Luckily I was able to sell the Pro for what I had into it. No regrets at all.

 

White looks really good in this Gen! But I sure do love this Bronze Oxide color!

Agree about the interior. You can always go Katzkin leather to add some interest and plenty of companies will be making interior accent accessories.

Very jealous about the K03's. Stock ranger raptor size so the 285/70's have been out... Gotta wait till August for them to release any new sizes.

 

Thanks! 285/70R17 works and looks so good with this truck IMO though! It will be nice when other sizes become available. I will need to replace the KO2s on my Sprinter and would like to go KO3.

 

I think they would be my next tire if the 16" sizes were out, looks like BFG seriously increased wet and snow performance with these as compared to the K02's. Be sure to update us on how they do in inclement weather!

 

Mostly I don’t like that they eliminated the access cab, also no more manual parking brake and some of the cosmetic features such as the funky rear bumper.

 

my 2016 was an access cab and I loved it. Agree that it’s a bummer that they eliminated it. I needed the extra people space (baby on the way) so this didn’t break my heart. We will see how well I can tolerate the short bed.

I thought I’d miss the hand brake but I don’t! With the clutch hold feature and the fact that it auto engages when you turn off the truck, I’m not missing it. I don’t do any crazy off-roading. I have used the hand brake in the old truck in an off road scenario but I think it won’t be necessary with the new tech this truck. That said of course it means the truck is doing more and the driver is doing less.

That also reminds me of how much I thought I’d hate iMT mode (intelligent manual transmission)…but I don’t! It really does work well and makes short stop and go commutes more seamless. It’s hard to explain…just makes for a much more smooth driving experience.

 

@tekoma Truck looks great Mike! Good info on the M/T and parking brake.

I’m in a ‘20 AC manual and I really like/need the long bed. With the AC doors eliminated on the 24’s, I wish Toyota would offer M/T in the DCLB trucks.

Nice truck. Bronze Oxide looks good. However, Bronze oxide with bronze wheels creates a weird contrast.

 

I did the whole interior on my '20 in Katzkin leather. Expensive and a pita but I love it.

 

Nice, looks like you thought ahead & was able to get to your salesman before they installed the front license plate bracket on...
I filled my holes with some black push-pins, had to pull out the die grinder & sand down the barbs to make them fit, looks good though...

 

Quit making the 4th gen grow on me. I love my truck... I love my truck...

 

Nice truck! How loud is the turbo? I heard that they took the sound insulation for the turbo out on the manual tacomas. I love turbo noises!

I also wonder if they will offer the tacomas in the new everest color.

 

If thats the case, dont do anything stupid like go to the dealer & roadtest one, skirt skirt skirt......
As a 35 year ford master certified engine mechanic, this thing scoots....
I have one in my garage..

 

I cant hear mine at all, I listened to engine noises for a living for 35 years...
Maybe it was all the air tools but I think I still have good hearing.
Def dont hear a whistle sound, other than just rushing air.

 

Oh ok I see. Well maybe with a different intake and exhaust itll make some noise!

 

Hey I see you’re in Apex, I’m right down the road. Just bought a 24 TRD Sport but I like the OR wheels better. Do you want to sell your original wheels/tires?

also did you have to do any trimming to fit the 285s?
