    It doesn't snow like it used to. I remember the winters of 76-77 and 77-78, cold and snowy.

    My grandfather often said that we haven't gotten weather like the ice storm of 1950! 4" of ice in a night apparently. Totally closed Altoona.

    I think it was 2006 or 2007 my area was hammered with an ice storm the ice was so thick I couldn't get into my f150from the drivers side my supervisor had to bring me home. I worked for the county highway dept at that time. I had a 4" layer of ice from bumper to bumper on the driver side. That was the last bad ice storm I can remember we had.

    Haven't experienced anything like that. Every winter lately I hope that we have a nice snowstorm and I always get disappointed. I'm sure tussey mountain (our local ski resort) would have similar wishes

    Whipper snapper. get off my lawn. :rofl: I remember around 1977 me and my friends were playing football in the street in our neighborhood in Monroeville. The ball went over the hedges, into an old man neighbor's yard. We went to retrieve it and he came out, grabbed it and said we couldn't have it because it went on his lawn. We had to wait for one of our father's to go over and give it to this old man before we could get our ball back.
