I agree not sure about the whole retirement thing?
Less hrs at least I guess and an easier position?
My dad worked until he passed but was happy and enjoying his part time job!
Mom hasn’t done well since and soon what he saved will be available moms stuff is paid ahead. With what I’ve put away I could I think.
We live a simple life and are pretty content with what we got.
And no debt just cant sit on the couch.
Only 58 but I would rather just get paid for what I work and not here the bitch about getting 40.

This has so many levels of wrong.

One doesn't need to be Marlin Perkins to know enough to leave the animals alone. :smack:

These same *people would have a cow is someone picked up their baby in a store.

I have met (and envied) people who genuinely enjoyed what they were employed to do. Unfortunately and foolishly for the most part I worked just to survive and painted myself into an employment corner.

My work made me feel like I spent 12+ hours a day at an angry music festival, pretty much rubbed my nerves raw.
I go days without having to talk to people now - life is good. :)

My mother worked full time every season in a tax office until she was 86.
She was a strong believer in "use it or lose it" -- winter is boring, the large tax returns she did were challenging -- made winter go by quickly.

Can be. We had an Army training range with Bison roaming. Some Folks just watched too many Cowboy movies & messed with ‘em foolishly. Personally, I wouldn’t even make the effort to pick up the carcass. Stupid should just stay there.

Never late unless held up somewhere else.
    I should get paid more!

    Reserected from the dead.
I retired at 52. Was skilled labor for a cooperate company.

Much company politics bled over into my realm. Most positions at my company were production positions. The company did not like having a skilled trade employees that were not contractors. The state government required our presents 24/7 and we couldn't be contractors and the company resented that. I think we were the square pegs that were pushed into the round holes. I'm pretty sure Russ and I had similar work environments.

I worked every but if overtime I could and every dime of that OT money went to my retirement.

I really like having my time now while I still can move easy.

My father was pretty slow after retirement. I didn't want that.

With that said, when I would meet new people outside of work, I never told them I worked for a world wide corporation. I just said I'm the owner/operator of a small fabrication company.

I also never told people I was a professional, but just a skilled amateur.

All right stump update: it looks as though it's burning from the inside which is a good thing. Stuffed some more charcoal in the hole and put some down on the top. Didn't even need to use a lighter sprayed it with lighter fluid and :nuclear: up it went.
