your fine. I have the intake along with a few others. no extra tune is needed. But even tunes don't trip the smog gods to date.

your fine buy the kit with the bully dog tune for the carb sticker then you can use the tunes we get from Folks here. Get boosted have fun and your good. Page was was built with CA in mind for most of it. TRD intake carb certified up to 2015 even though its up to 2011 in fitment but we made it work.

Well it was BONE dry. It did need a chance to get fluid cycling through it. A moment to get "wet" or "immersed" if you would. All brushless pumps sound this way that of which these fuel pumps are.

Yeah I was gassing it yesterday and all of a sudden my truck got a lot quieter s/c pulley wise. The usual whine from it being at idle is much quieter. I check the belt and it was still fine no marks or abrasions. Maybe it finally seated fully after the pulley swap?

Either way it doesn't sound like a squeaky wheel anymore and boost is still there fine. You guys ever notice anything like that 6 months later?

The alternator can be removed without removing the supercharger belt or tensioner, just need some depth in your vocabulary.

Hopefully I don't have to do this again for another 12 years or 110,000 miles.

Did you install a 130a? I’ve got the lower output alternator, I’m trying to decide if it’s worth pulling the oem unit and installing a 130 amp. The only upgraded electronics I have are a better fuel pump and a small amp that drives a sub.

I had the 130 and that's what's going back in later this evening. I was looking at higher output options but I don't want to have to pull the alternator again anytime soon and everything I came across seemed to have mixed reviews so I'm off to the dealer now to pick up the replacement.

Had an advanced case of brake light glaucoma to deal with in my other car first.

Ok gotcha. I was looking at some of the Toyota dealerships that sell online and all I was seeing for 130 amps were rebuilts. Is that what you decided on or is there a new one still available from the factory that I wasn’t seeing?

They are rebuild denso units. As far as I know there are no longer new alternators available through Toyota.

What do all you alternator folks think about what BNR sells? New, and claimed 250A

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/352570729112?itmmeta=01HVSJE638RE1Q66GPCKFTAEX1&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0I%2FAHxnlJUSA3DcKH2NLeWhxHp6+e+BmlhJaB3MuS0tTxQ2M1N47zw0ZPJk6Cw5ofqNFOSbu3FcEoM+IdHrZwPKUXfA%2FMrtvcD2KejN5B7nd0wDioYcDIeL0hWU+x0c+jbvVKYwfCe1vIelzNRIHXqggKnl0xwSzq5VT6ZQOUJO5aQncGAqnOHPYzWNtVkvgEFupVnWGGlU2TvW5FAuIJEulYMM6vs4AKo4DQuHBVEN4+Giktb0oQae1LOIhOrvn%2FR+7ioA8JJcqegOIuqLmUYg%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-7huLLeYw

I have one, been very reliable with a voltage booster charging my AGM dual bank battery setup. They also gave me a longer stud on the alternator, that allowed me to run an extra cable from the alternator directly to the battery in addition to the stock harness wire, so the current path didn't have to go to the fuse box first then spill over to the battery in a thinner cable for charging. BTW the pulley it comes with is smaller so it does spin faster.

I have no idea if it is capable of 250A or not, but given my truck will likely never be able to pull that much current, I doubt it matters. Seems to work fine, and been on for 6 years and about 50K hard miles with lots and lots of dirt, vibration and heavy loading. knock on wood.

I saved my original 130A, which wasn't broken but I'm curious to see what the experts in this thread have to say about BNR.

My OEM alternator died when I was on Hatteras Island OBX in September 2022 with 112k miles. Parts houses are slim there so I was stuck with getting a Carquest alternator and swapped it in the driveway at the rental house. I was just happy one was available without spending a fortune.

It's definitely doable all I did was remove the belt and I was able to use needle nose pliers and weird extension combos to bolt it in. That bracket is definitely in the way.

@racebug68, the 250 BNR is what I would have gone with. Decided I'm going to commit to solar for charging when parked so the alternator isn't as taxed charging batteries since my fridge runs 24/7.

I put my BNR on before doing a dedicated full time solar on the roof as well. now that there is a couple hundred watts up there, I think the idea that I need lots more alternator surplus above and beyond what the truck takes to run, to charge batteries, is not as needed as it was before the solar. My main usage model is to not have the fridge running 100%, but only on the trips - so long drive, followed by at least one day of camping, with a long drive again. And when in the garage, the solar would not be charging anyway, but the fridge and electricals aren't drawing either.

Currently, in full sun, I can recover from the fridge running all night in a very short time, usually by the time I depart camp. But if you camp in the forest, or search for shade,,, then you can get into lots of battery depletion and solar won't help.

BNR 180/200A used as the replacement when my stock 130A Alternator went kaput. Reco'ed by @12TRDTacoma when I was shopping around.

I'm estimating I have maybe 15-20k problem free miles with BNR.

My BNR has been problem free for quite a while now as well. I recommend it over again.
