My first Blackstone oil analysis came back today.
    Screenshot_2024-04-03-18-40-57-15_e2d5b3f32b79de1d45acd1fad96fbb0f.jpg

They said the oil was a little thin and that very well could have been from me topping the oil off with about half a quart or so of 5w30 when it was still leaking plus whatever 5w30 was still left over from when I made the change to 0w40 :notsure:

Aluminum is up a little, hopefully that was just from cutting and fitting the charge pipes and inner cooler or something that's possible right:notsure:

Now we just need to drive it another 3,500m and test it again

I haven't posted much in here lately, the truck is still running great and working as my daily driver.

With W.E. Rock Live coming to town in a couple of weeks I decided to get a Jumpstart on the excitement by playing around in the slick rocks without the crowds and hot dog ventors.
    IMG_20240414_143637.jpg
It got a little tippy and reminded me that I want a roll cage at some point but that'll wait for now
    IMG_20240414_143540.jpg

Oh and I have officially broken in the rock sliders (well at least the passenger side).
    IMG_20240414_144054.jpg
With out the sliders I probably wouldn't have hit that spot anyway but I had to take a moment and capture the sliders first kiss.
    IMG_20240414_150911.jpg

Intake temperatures stayed in the low 70's and the motor stayed below 185°f

Which brand and grade of oil are you using? I'm switching to one with a higher zinc and moly content, see if my wideband ends up hating it or not.

Speaking of wideband... my 2nd one is on the frits... might try adding in a heat-sink extension on this next one (3rd times the charm maybe)... if that fails ill be looking for something other than this innovate or may have to possibly relocate it further down stream to mitigate the heat which I think is killing them

That O2 bung was pretty close to the turbo with the CX down pipe right? I guess that's the only benefit of having to build my own.

You mentioned in the Turbo BS Thread that the AFR's are hunting a little bit. I'm guessing it's probably fairly similar to mine where it bounces between low 14's and 15's

yup exactly, its pretty much just behind and a bit above the turbo, so seeing a lot of heat. Your running the innovate to though right? Where did you locate your bung?

Yea mine bounce around those, but level out after some driving and getting warmed up.

my worry is that even the aem's use the same Bosch sensors, so I'm not convinced that changing brands is going to eliminate my problem. So hopefully the heat-sink addition helps, or relocations is in the future plans, that or deal with forking over $200ish a year in maintenance fees for those sensors every year. Which isn't great, because I really don't drive the truck all that much, I put less then 10k a year on the thing haha

Is your guys' factory O2 really close to the turbo, that can mess with them.

Can see mine is at the recommended 18" away. I don't have a narrowband anymore, but the general advice follows for wideband too.

Yea its pretty close, ill grab a picture once home. I think I measured at the time and it is the 'recommended' distance away if you measure how far downstream in the pipe it is, but its location respective of the turbo is shorter distance. Not sure on Derek's location as he had a custom DP made and I'm using the cxracing provided one

@GoJo Also if you're using an innovate gauge, their circuitry is dumb, if you're leaving the key on without running the engine they'll burn sensor heaters and catalysts out preheating themselves endlessly. I really do not like innovate gauges, they kill bosch sensors.

Sorry, im talking about the wideband location. My factory upstream o2 is further downstream from that down by the firewall just before it bends to the rest of the exhaust out the back

yea I read that as well, and not something I typically do. I have also noticed the memory on the gauge is lost periodically as well, but other accessories attached to the same fuse block are fine. Maybe attributed to that circuitry as well maybe...

My guage shuts on and off periodically sometimes several times in a single minute and some times it's good for an hour but every time it does it starts the O2 heater cycle over again and resets the memory. it also doesn't register any boost pressure until 1.2psi

    Here's where I've got my O2's

oh yea you are much further downstream...

    upload_2024-4-16_17-37-45.png

I was severely off, definitely not 18" from turbo here... maybe 18" of pipe (with all the bends and what not) from the manifold, which is if I recall, wording from CXRacing documentation.. but clearly not 18" from turbo... relocation it is at some point.

You possibly have some wiring gremlins with your setup? Mine resets maybe once or twice a month, definitely not as much as your experiencing.

Could definitely be a little gremlin in my guage. I messed with the wiring a while ago and didn't get any change. If it hadn't sat on the parts shelf for so long I would have tried to exchange it for another one. Hopefully I can just remove it in favor of some haltech hardware

It's been super fun. Obviously a couple hiccups along the way but even with my setup producing less than 5psi it's sooo much fun.

I've been itching to dive into the Haltech side of things but I'm trying to pay off the new triple pain windows we installed in the house first. I don't like spending money when I still owe money on other things. Paying interest on stuff is dumb (but not having 50 year old windows really has been nice and it makes the entire property look better).

@GoJo have you had any check engine lights lately. I get a couple for evap stuff still that I think are related to the check valves and there's still a small exhaust leak on the passenger side somewhere that's causing a P0420
