I just want to thank @christin06 for a fast delivery .

I got my tailgate stolen 2 times . So now I’m using christin06 antitheft device. I added a little JB weld on it . Give anyone who trying to take it has to fight to take it off.

 

Add a "@" at the front of his name and he will be notified someone "tagged" him.

how do thieves still steal the tail gates if they’re locked? i never understood.

Is the JB Weld applied to keep a would-be thief from trying to pry it off?

 

I put JB Weld in the socket screw heads on mine. Slows down the thievery process if their tools won't fit. If I take my tailgate off - I'll just have to deal with it.

 

when I order it from @christian06 i also order a security bolt. I just added the JB weld for additional security measures. Trying to
Make it as difficult as I can. Not only would they have to try and unbolt they would have to pry it off. To much work hopefully.

 

Not "if", "when". That plastic hinge bushing is a wear item and will need replacement a few times over your truck's life.

 

I've had mine since 2006, and it still works great, maybe it's the assist kit that keeps it from wearing out

Yes, you can melt off JB weld with a small torch . I thought about that as well. I don’t mind doing a little extra work to take it off .
