They'll get a deal done when they absolutely have to (end of the season) and, like any good deal, neither side will be happy. It's all talk and posturing, as Jimmie Johnson put it.

3CHI revoking sponsorship with 8 and RCR except for Championship Sunday race.

This can’t be good with a primary sponsor over multiple years bailing because of ‘political atmosphere’

It wouldn't be the first or the last time. It reminds me of the Ramses car from the early '90s. I'm not sure what the political atmosphere issue is. I think it's just a poor idea to advertise your product in regions where it is illegal to purchase. Then again, this is likely part of a larger project to push through legislation at the state level.

    You nailed it!

According the 3CHI, it's the 'political atmosphere' surrounding 3CHI products, not something going on within RCR

TIL Rob Kauffmann, who created the RTA (Race Team Alliance) and the charter system, is also the financial backer for Ray Evernham's IROC series. IROC just announced its first event this year, an exhibition set to take place at Lime Rock. The announcement states former Daytona 500 and INDY 500 champs will participate in the event. I'm curious to see how this IROC deal grows.

I believe the SRX was a test run for something Ray & Co. is cooking up, and I imagine NASCAR brass is NOT happy with these movements. In the past decade, NASCAR has made big moves to monopolize stock car racing, buying up smaller racing series and locking up most well-run tracks with management contracts that likely include non-compete clauses prohibiting the tracks from hosting new racing series.

NASCAR has a long history of getting what they want by strong-arming race tracks under threat of blacklisting them. I don't think Rob & Ray will go head to head with NASCAR, but I do believe they can serve as a check & balance to NASCAR's power, much like Bruton Smith and Humpy Wheeler did with SMI (Speedway Motorsports Inc.).

I love, too, that there is a second (third?) thorn in NASCAR's side comprised of Marcus Smith (SMI) and Dale Earnhardt Jr's friendship, as well as the ownership group for the CARS Tour (Kip Childress, Karsyn Elledge, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Justin Marks)

There would be many lawsuits, but plenty of big movers could take their ball and go home, leaving NASCAR fairly high & dry.

Personally, I'm not sad. RCR will be fine though.

It's only Talladega. Qualifying pretty much means nothing.

I thought history was going to made with Deegan. But then Herbst passed her instead of pushed her and she got shuffled back.

WTF I was watching the recording of the Xfinity race. The 7 hit the wall at the end of stage 1, commercial break and now UFL is on.

Ya I was kinda bummed. I rewound it and didn’t see any notifications that it was switching channels. I have Direct TV not sure why in 2024 if they move shit around it can’t be kept on being recorded. I had to attend my buddy’s celebration of life and couldn’t watch it live. I used to watch races with him years ago so I doubt he would have cared if I skipped it. He was a Hamlin fan so I’m pretty used to taking shit about the 11. He also hated Joey so at least we could rag on one guy watching the races together.
