I notice the difference towing. Holds 4th gear with a 5100 lb trailer much better and longer.

@TacoManOne that's what I'm looking for, improved towing.

It makes a difference you can tell for sure. Again not dramatic but definitely a noticeable difference.

Cool. If they do a sale or a coupon code I'll grab one soon. If not I might wait a bit.

I think I already know the answer, but is it better to install this spacer before getting tuned, or does it matter which is done first? Did anyone need to get their tune adjusted after installing spacer?

When I asked OTT they said it doesn't matter.

From the PM's I got the certainly do. Let's be honest, while I appreciate the fact that time went into designing this, $325 is a lot for a piece of plastic even if it makes power. The fact I got a discount code got me from "maybe" to "sold".

Has anyone mentioned 3D printing one of these in this thread?
Never mind, you can’t 3d print delrin. Needs to be injection molded or machined.
Probably best for someone with the access to the right equipment to cnc out of aluminum.

Yeah I didn't think a spacer would make a significant difference in the tune variables.
    Thanks for the feedback!

I asked my tuner about manifold spacers before installing (running CVC tune), and he said the tune will use the truck's learning ability to optimize itself for the spacer over time since the tune is programmed to optimize for small changes like that. My truck initially idled a bit higher after install, but a couple minutes in the driveway idling and it quickly settled back down to near normal RPMs and I noticed after a couple drives the shifting behavior also improved a bit as the tune adjusted for the spacer's effects on airflow.

So far no changes in my thoughts I posted a month or so back, aside from getting more milage and data in that makes me even more glad I did the install. I'll probably still regear when I go to 33s but right now on 32s the truck feels well set up with just the manifold spacer and a tune. Based off my experience, I think anyone towing regularly or carrying more weight often will appreciate the changes to torque behavior and accessibility even more than me.

After having the spacer sitting behind the back seat of the truck for nearly 3 months I decided to install it yesterday after work. Install was faster and easier than I expected. I used the double nut method to remove the two studs before removing any of the other manifold bolts which IMO is better than removing them after the manifold is up and you're working between the upper and lower manifolds and having to jam rags in the intake ports to prevent the stud from falling in. I also used a trick from my days as a Mitsubishi tech doing timing belts on Monteros, pull the cores out of the front tire valve stems to make it easier to reach into the engine bay. It gets it about 5 inches lower which helps a lot if your truck is lifted and/or you're vertically challenged like I am. Took 90 minutes from the time I walked outside to start the job to the time I walked back inside and cracked a beer. I'm happy with the results and wish I'd have installed it months ago. Noticeably more grunt from a stop under light throttle and hills that would cause the trans to unlock the torque converter then downshift to 5th now are being pulled in 6th with just the converter unlocking. I wouldn't be surprised if I pick up a mpg or two but unfortunately I forgot to look at the trip average on the screen when I got to work this morning. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does with a trailer behind it or even with the snowmobile in the bed. I feel it was pricey but will be money well spent in the long run.

Works great with a trailer. Holds 4th with my 5000 lb trailer much better on the flats. Noticeably better.

@TacoManOne thanks. That's what I figured. Hoping to do a 4 hour drive upstate with the ATV on the trailer this month, it's a trip I've done a bunch of times so I'll be able to really feel how different it is.

Wish I could have bought a "used" one. It's not like it's a wear item.
