Rondog's Long Travel Build

No that isn't permanent. I had been using my moms car for like 2 weeks so I had to get my truck up and running so I could get her car back. They are really tight up there and I am not doing any off roading for a little while. I actually have the spot where they are going to mount grinded and ready for welding.

 

Finding a good spot for mine was one of the hardest parts (but I was 2wd so I didnt have to mess with any of the axle stuff). The hose on my resi's are really long so I had to perform some magic to keep them off the springs.

ok so fiberglass took waaaaay longer than expected. Driver side required lots lots of sanding. About 3 hours worth of sanding starting at about noon. Then nap from 330 to 630. then passenger side 7 to about 930. It looks great. Me and a group are going wine tasting in temecula, but I am DD so pics to come tomorrow.

I have to get to building a front bumper asap. I mangled mine over the weekend. How thick is the plate you guys use on your skids?

 

IIRC mine is 1/8"

I spoke with Geoff and I am looking at about 3 weeks out. He says the shocks are going to take the longest..ahh can't wait!!

I can really feel the difference between the two. The front end is like butter..back end not so much. A tad stiff lol. While I am waiting for the rear end to come in I am going to work on reinforcing the front end. If you are interested in the price, I got the spring kit+shocks for $3031.95 out the door. The shocks I got were the "bloody" link killer shocks which aren't on their web site. I talked to Geoff at giant and I guess the "bloody" link killers resemble a regular bypass shock but have an adjustable valve that makes them almost the exact same as the double bypass when valved correctly. They were a little cheaper ($1088 for a pair [16" x 2.5"]);
