Decided to see what Carvana would offer on my truck on a whim, I check like once a year. usually it's kinda low, albeit sensible for a 10yo truck with 110k miles on it without considering the cult following, SoCal Market, or modifications that a right buyer would pay more for.

Today...this is what I got answering the questions honestly lol. Went back and re-did the valuation to make it seem as nice as possible and still got the same offer.

What the hell are they smoking and where can I get it, because my weed isn't nearly this strong lmao. I could probably sell my floormats for more than that

    The tides have turned

Keep seeing articles how the market is changing and more people are upside down on loans. Think that’s why shit is so crazy at dealers. They want to sell more vehicles but the only way to get people to jump is to give them crazy trade value to get them out of their poor Covid choices.

That's their "we don't want it" reply. There are 2 newer generations on the market now.

I’ll give you $150 but you’re gonna have to drive it to me for it to be worth the difference

It is truly amazing how many people are having a hard time paying off loans. Our repo section at work (auction house) is over flowing to the point we have to reject repos sometimes cuz we have no room!

Social media and keeping up with the jones is expensive and 90% of the population doesn’t know “within their means”.

Be interesting where things go in 12-36 months.

lol the market has really pigeonholed itself I feel. Tbh it doesn’t surprise me how upside down people are with how things went over the last few years. But idk why the truck value would be virtually worthless lol. I should see what carmax says…

that would make sense, but it’s not like this wouldn’t be a easy sell/profit for them even if they bought it at $5k lol

Insurance will have to total the vehicle unfortunately after one tank of gas sorry pal

    Lol that’s nuts

can confirm, I played that game for a while and learned my lesson lol. Luckily I did all that before COVID so I was able to keep my spending on the truck in check when I had nothing to do except online shop.

don’t ask me about my motorcycles though…

Well most of the repos are semis or semi trailers but there are a few regular vehicles.

Think it's only going to get worse. We are talking about expanding our yard to accommodate more stuff.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
its either a mistake, or carvana is really fucked.

Yup. Vroom already tanked. I'm surprised carvana hasn't as well.

They still offer close to 30K on my 2015.

[and second gens in nice shape are still better then the first couple years of the third gen with the 3.5 and 6 speed simply because the combo sucked due to stupidly high gearing and a car engine that likes to makes it's power higher up.
