larger fuel tank install?

Has anyone put in a larger fuel tank?
I'm a big fan of not having to stop and 300 miles per tank isn't that far.
Not looking to put a nurse tank in the bed.

Has anyone seen a fuel tank/toolbox combo for the bed of my taco. i drive 150 miles daily and i have to put gas in every day and a half.

 

I'm not sure if it's any bigger... IIRC some older f-150's fuel tanks fit under our trucks..... I wonder if someone has a link. Sorry

 

The guys at expedition west have put in a 20 gallon isuzu trooper fuel tank in our tacomas where the spare tire goes so if you move your spare you can add the extra tank there. They report getting 700 miles to the tank (combined). Google "expidetion west tacoma extra fuel tank" and you should find it.

 

The spot where the spare goes is pretty close to the size of the spot wear they put the tanks on old fullsize Blazers and Suburbans and they got some big tanks available. It might be worth a look, in fact I may measure that up myself.

 

That's some serious chair time. I like to use a gas stop for stretching/exercise, caffeine refill, and to take a #1.

Are you doing the piss-bottle thang or do you not drink any fluids? Wait 'till you get older and your aging prostate/bladder limits your piss endurance.

 

Haha this is true but its still nice to not have to worry about fuel when your out in the middle of nowhere. Us guys and some girls can pee anywhere so a pit stop at a rest area or even the side of the road is sufficient for most lol.
Especially out camping (not at a campground) like I like to do its nice to have plenty of fuel to go pillage the trails and not be limited to the amount of fuel you have.
