I finally got to 'the google', Ames looks like where I was, in which case it would have only been 300 yards. I remember it was a long ways out there and my memory is clearly fading with old age. The description and aerial view seem to match what I recall, the long range had a heated enclosure. We were tooling around with targets much closer, things we could hit with iron sights and pistols.

I was just preparing a screen shot from Google Maps to post here. Your description was exactly how Ames is laid out.

The dirt road to the right of the 300 yard range was where one of our members was working to build up the 300 yard berm after a complaint that a round hit someone's house about a mile away. There was a long back story to that, but the end result was that the berm got built up and we rebuilt the range to a "no blue sky" so that random shots could go into orbit. Not that there was ever any confirmation that any had left the range. Coincidentally a range that was closer to and in direct line of sight with the house that was allegedly hit was owned by a relative of a person who was on the Board of that second range.

    But I digress.

I last shot there probably in October before we had the house packed up. It's a nice range in the nice weather, but the indoor range is in the basement of the building. Which was built in 1932.

Good to know. It was kind of a pain finding a valve with these specs.99% of them are normally closed

Yep, that is a true statement. But, we DO use N/O valves in certain applications, so, they are available through our suppliers.
Might have to build something up, but, that shouldn't be a problem.

Something I never really see mentioned is that sliders make good hardpoints.

Ordered some 5100s for the rear of the infiniti lol. It's currently riding like shit after the control arm replacements. Sitting at appropriate height and tires are finally wearing appropriately but over rough roads it wants to spin out and kill you lol.

What's the deal with Jeeps and rubber ducks? I see more Jeeps with them than without.

It’s a 07+ jeep thing… I drive a TJ (2004) and no one ducks me luckily. I think people do it to each other in a way of saying “I like your jeep” with a fully custom rubber duck…

The Jeep moms around here have their entire dashboard’s covered with ducks. I don’t get what ducks have to do with jeeps?

There's a girl that works at the spot where I get pizza. She has a Jeep and a couple ducks on the dashboard. I never asked about the ducks, only if she off-roads it.

There's a Jeep on the next street over that has a bunch on the dash. One of the ducks looks to be about 5x bigger than the rest.
