Back in june I received a pair of Meso's puddle pods. I Installed them and the drivers side works perfectly fine, but the passenger side trips my 7.5amp dome light fuse. I figured out it is the passenger side light that seems to be tripping the fuse. To try to troubleshoot I plugged the drivers side light into the passenger side connector and it works fine. I plugged the passenger side light into the drivers side connector it trips.

Ive verified that the wire is not kinked on anything and not bundled up and it looks fine, I reached out to meso support, they responded once. I responded the same day and never heard back after. I even sent an additional email 2 weeks later again asking for help, but nothing came of it. Reaching out on here to see if anyone could help me get that last light working

I'm no auto electrical expert by any means but if you've swapped out with a light you know works and that one works fine, then plugged the defective light into a connector you know is working correctly and it trips, I think you've narrowed the problem down to the light itself. @MESO has some good products and does seem to care about customer satisfaction, but he's a small operation and chooses to stay that way, and sometimes he gets bogged down. Like any other mass produced item, his stuff isn't perfect 100% of the time but he does seem to have a desire to make it right..... once he gets to you.

I installed a Total Tail Stage 1 kit about a month and a half ago. It took about 3-4 days from the time I ordered till I got a shipping notification. All ended up fine and it works great, but the pins on the connector for the reverse/turn switchback didn't line up correctly with the OEM connector to the point that you could not plug them together. It took some repositioning of the pins on the Meso connector with a pair of needle nose plyers to get it to plug in, but once it did all was good. I posted here about my experience and found out someone else who ordered from the same batch of kits had the exact same issue, so I sent Meso an email to let him know there might be a problem with his latest batch of stage 1 kits. Never heard back at all. No big deal, but if that email had been sent because the connector was bad and I needed a replacement, I would be upset if I didn't get a response.

His website lists no other way to contact him other than their contact form. You can try to PM him here but I haven't seen him around in a while. Realize that Meso has an almost cult-like following so saying negative things can sometime bring the wrath of TW down upon you :) Sorry I can't be of more help and I hope Meso does right by you.

I have a similar issue. I'm going to try to make a video to show what it's doing because it's a lot to write out, lol.

But basically, the system works fine if only the passenger side is plugged into the @MESO harness, but if I plug the drivers side in, everything works until I try to lock the truck. I get a key error. If I switch the the drivers and passenger side at the harness, I get the same thing. It's like it only wants to work with one light connected...

I have a brand new set sitting in the box still. I’m hesitant to install them hearing all the problems people are having plus MESO has been MIA for awhile now so no support or replacements if something doesn’t work. I think I’ll keep putting that project off for a bit….

You can always install the lights and run the wires but hold off on connecting to the pillar. At least get the hard parts out of the way.

Test it out before you install it. A few have had stripped insulation while installing them, others have bent pins while joining cables.

That is really weird, let's try a new extension and drivers side light. Quick plug in test before install would know if it solves the problem.

Even though I'm on/off the forums..we have a support ticket system through our website that I have a dedicated employee to tend to in a timely manner.

This. Although we do plug in each on on the bench and test before packing/shipping. With ANY new electronics, it's always best to do a "quick dry run" I.E Just plug in ans test to make sure the product functions correctly, and also there's no weird issues with the truck factory functions.
There has been a handful of customers pinching the wire though the door mirror hole, which I will be putting a warning sticker on each extension going forward.

I wouldn’t be hesitant about installing it! I have multiple other meso products and haven’t had issues with em. Stuff happens and it’s still a sick product. From what I’ve seen others have had a great experience with the support, and from when they do respond they’re usually pretty helpful

After some back and forth with meso’s support finally got a new one sent out. Plugged in and worked perfectly, I must’ve gotten that 1 in a million bad batch.

So it was the puddle light harness causing it?

I don’t exactly know, I’d assume so. Swapped the drivers side working light to the passenger side and it still worked, and moved the non working passenger light to the drivers side and it didn’t light. Could’ve been bad harness or bad light. Regardless something in it was defective.

I’m having a similar problem. About 2 months after instaling the puddle podsl, my 7.5 Dome fuse blew. I replaced the blown fuse and everything worked great for about 3 days until it blew again. SO, I am going to disconnect the puddle pods in the A pillar and see if that solves the fuse issue. If it does not solve the issue, I am going to work on the VLED footwell lights, but those have been installed for almost a year, so I do not suspect this lights.

Any thoughts from the group would be appreciated.
