I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. Shit, some of the 6th gen threads on 4runners.com have been pretty dumb. Several bans over there last week.

That’s the trouble with small tribbles, before you know it they turn into bigger tribble troubles.

WI crew, earlier this week, Pat @pearing posted about a comment that a lady made about his truck.
I replied using the word " hick." That was a very poor choice of words and was very inappropriate. It wasn't meant to insult anyone's lifestyle or education level. In fact I'm probably the least educationed in the group. So, for my dumb ass comment, I apologize. Mostly, I want to apologize to Pat.

I took it as a term of endearment, personally. :D

I guess it's similar to the term "redneck", where some find it insulting, and others take pride in it.

I know you're not the type to put others down, Dan. Hopefully nobody took you out of context. But, thanks for the clarification. :)

No offense taken and non was meant. friends being friends. Besides, I am probably the "hick"iest of the bunch.

    Huh.
I thought we were all hicks in our own special ways.

I mean, like wouldn’t any of us fit in perfectly on the set of the Red Green show?

My ex and kids went to see the eclipse, they stay with the ex’s family for the weekend in southern Indiana, a stones throw from Kentucky. I texted my daughter when they were down there to she how she was liking it. She replied: It’s fine, just hard getting used to the “Hillbilly lifestyle” :)

She’s not wrong, her grandpa down there used to run moonshine!

I've certainly done my share of duct tape repair jobs.

I just assumed it was a lifestyle choice that you consciously made.

I mean, most people, when they get a minor paint scratch on the truck bed, would just get out the touch up paint.

A guy actively embracing an alternative lifestyle rips the offending bed right off the truck and fabs (sans plans) an intricate flatbed with hidden compartments, on-board running water and other unmentioned amenities of the type never seen in mainstream vehicles.

Great reference! Anyone not familiar, I believe all episodes are on YouTube, become familiar.

If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy! Words to live by.

Is there a resemblance? Pat Green perhaps?
(No offense is intended in any way, form or manner, just the opposite in fact)

Well, I'm outta here. Four days in Big Bend NP, then one at White Sands NP, overnight maybe by Jason, three at Grand Canyon NP, four in Moab and probably two in the Black Hills/Badlands area. Plus a whole bunch of driving in between.
