I’m so depressed I put $25k in my pocket in the last year buying and selling two trucks.

They quoted me 65k for my 145,000 mile 2016 911 recently. 70k if I revert the race suspension to stock. How do they stay in business?

I should have purchased the cheapest new 911 when I had a chance a few years ago. It is the highest resale value vehicle out there.

you just don't get it. it's an InDuStRy DiSrUpTeR thing.

yeah, they're just burning investor capital, intending to carve a name out for themselves, counting every web hit and vehicle bought as a positive, while really, we're all just helping add gasoline and matches to the ship they're floating by on.

Always love the pissing match over finances, and the one up man-ship. What is that all about anyways?

Have several buddies that are always buying and selling vehicles, constantly pissing and moaning over little shit they don’t like, they seem never satisfied and fucking miserable…

$17k off one and $8k off the other. Both were actually sold to dealers though, way easier than trying to sell expensive stuff private party and dealing with tire kickers who don’t actually have the money.

Also the most profitable vehicle for Porsche.

What make and model were they?

I had leased a Black 2020 TRD OR premium 4Runner that I sold to a local dealer a couple of years ago. Netted about 12.5k, so it was almost a free lease for 2 years.

No pissing, moaning or one-man-upping. Just pointed out that done right it’s not a bad way to drive something nice for a while and then be able to make some money off it when you’re done.

I am guilty of frequent buying and selling with eight vehicles, four motorcycles and four boats over the last four years. I was to lucky to be living in a state with high vehicle sales taxes and not have to pay the tax myself in addition to ordering at a discount and waiting for vehicles to be built rather than buying off the lots. Discounted purchase, no tax, and no interest makes it pretty easy to breakeven or profit on resale.

Yeah, Ram raising the prices to stupid levels helps that a lot. What I paid $76k for is now $105k for the exact same truck two years later.

The RHO is coming, so whatever’s left out there is marked up.

That’s just MSRP without mark ups. Most of what Ram built for 2024 were the final editions with $130k plus dealer markups. Ridiculous pricing, took what used to be a relatively affordable truck and made it out of reach for most people. The first 2021 base models were $70k and you aren’t getting an extra $60k worth of performance and luxury out of a 2024.

Yeah, all the TRX's are 125k + markup near me. I really like the Lunar Rock edition TRX, but not for that price.

Similar story, bought a F-150 Tremor and sold to a dealer for $12,500 profit (that’s after I had to register/tax it). Wish I could’ve order 10.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
By meeting the idiot seller to the idiot buyer. They dont have to be great at what they do, just make a profit.

edit: Not passing judgement on any one who has used carvana. It obviously has a current place in the market. More so Im just pointing out a general idea.

I saw a Cayman GT4 RS flip for $243k. Base price is about $160k before options. So probably a $40k net. It takes money to make money… as they say. Although, Porsche has definitely been known to blacklist people that flip.
