Well, let’s see who wants to chime in. I have my own ideas on the wheel base thing. Either way I’ll bet 1,000$ nobody is in the 53-54 range as it needs to be.

i’m confused…you had a soft pedal and shortening the extension made it firmer ?

I had the exact opposite problem with the sos kit when i first installed it with my taco stock booster. My brake pedal was crazy stiff and only had a 1/4” of throw. I had to adjust that adapter all the way short to get normal pedal feel

The extension i shortened is the one that goes into the MC for the SOS kit. In actuality it lenghtens the MC to the pin inside the booster. For whatever reason the pin in the booster had to travel an obscene distance to actuate the MC. Using that extension piece from the SOS kit and machining it down took up that distance.
    Best I can explain it.

The reason I’m so set on that opinion is that from the front military wrap on the leaf pack to the center pin where your axle sits is basically a flexible link ie: that distance should be the same on every deaver h70 leaf pack

So, if your axle is 2” forward then there are only two options :

    1. front hangar is in the wrong place
    2. leaf pack is wrong

I’m not 2” forward. More like one. And had someone reach out on IG with the new kit (frame brace) saying they too lost an inch. Truthfully. I think it’s the fact not many JD kits are paired with 6” glass and the 6” glass magnifies it.

Reality is. I doubt many are even measuring travel, wheel base or anything else.

got it, totally makes sense and the only logical explanation is that the sequoia masters we have from those sos kits ( @Pittsy ) are not the correct oe match for the tundra booster

i might just buy a tundra mc too so i don’t have to f with it

I think that 3rd gen conversion glass you have must have the wheel opening off center too because just speaking in visual terms looking at your tire to fender gaps it looks way forward and you’ve even trimmed the from edge for tire clearance

    It’s not conversion glass.

well then it just doesn’t make any sense because visually your tire is way the F off center in the wheel opening in all the pics you post ?

Yup. That’s the kit. Paired with 6” glass. It’s not just me. Just not many are running 6” glass and it goes unnoticed. This came to light Thursday. Unfortunately said person doesn’t want to get involved on here. It took 37’s and some gnarly back spacing on two trucks requiring +6. I don’t know any other truck running 37’s with this back spacing and +6.

Tomorrow if I find the time ill be clearancing the shock towers for the bypass adjusters. Ill take some measurements then, it would be nice to compare a Frame Brace Version to a Non Frame Brace Version.

What are your new shackle angles at ride height after moving things around?

I had my junk up in the air this morning looking things over for a quick second. Didn't see anything with the rear end except im missing a leafspring pad or two. My time was spent addressing a coolant leak that I found

Not sure what the new angle will be yet until I get my front hanger moved. Working on that as we speak. But it’s a very very significant change.

Maybe I can help ya out. I could measure the hanger distance tomorrow. H70 stuffed, ADV glass. Directly in the center. If anything maybe a little rearward. I thought I had an old pic at jounce but couldn't find it.

I don’t have my jack stands with me right now so couldn’t pull the tire to check bolt to bolt properly. The frame brace covers the bolt holes so you can't easily get at the bolt for an accurate measurement without a lot of fucking around. But I measured my wheelbase which is spot on 132”, the stock 3rd gen DCSB measurement. So definitely no wheel base extension here.

I did have my laser measure on me so for the hell of it I slammed it on the rear shackle hanger bolt and aimed it at the end of the spring. Not bolt to bolt, probably a little longer since I hit the back end of the leaf, but it was 57”.

Not scientific enough for you — except the wheel base which is 100% accurate — so hopefully someone else will chime in or I’ll pull a tire and measure it properly when I’m back.

At this point, the only number I care about is front pivot to shackle hanger pivot.

Alright, smartest dumb thing I’ve done in a while. 56 21/32. I'm hitting the bottom bolt because I can't hit the top one (the brakeline is in the way) but the top bolt is closer.

@906taco shackle is in the top hole.

no way, it would be way more noticeable with stock bedsides because the wheel opening is much smaller
that’s with the JD sua kit too ?
