I like mine from 1320 Performance. Has lots of tie down spots too for different angles.

Speaking of pads, I would like to know how your arm rest mod is holding up. I saw it years ago but picked up a strapping spongy top pad. The problem is I bought the hidden box for under the lid and the straps interfere so I was thinking to do your mod. Where can I see the specs of your foam that you used and did you ever have to change it if it got worn in one spot? TIA

Thanks for everyone’s opinions on the bed stiffeners. Soooo many to choose from. I kinda like the Total Chaos ones and the 1320 Performance ones. And it was good advice to keep in mind how much the brackets interferes with the opening width at the tailgate. I’ll have to snoop dog this some more before buying.

Y’all this mod thread is going to bust me, dang !!!!

I have always thought the Brat seats would be a great mod for the tacoma. It would be a great hunting buggy.

FWIW also have the Chaos stiffeners and they’ve been great especially for the tie down points. Use them all the time.

I have the Total Chaos stiffness and haven’t noticed much loss of of opening width. I do really like the extra tie down points. I try to get the most out of the space in my bed.

Found out what was clunking in the front end.. safe to say this tie Rod end has seen better days haha.
Also swapped my lower shock bolts with the 303 shock services bolts. Forgot a picture of the old bolts but you could see visible wear where the “step down” was

Because you don't have enough options, DRT Fabrication makes a solid set. Super happy with them.

Bought clazzio leather seat covers last night. Now to play the waiting game and fighting the buyers remorse feelings for finally pulling the $600 trigger

What I expect them to look like. Will see lol

Glad they got your Taco back new again!

Reminded me of my own experience..not three days I got my truck, was behind a gravel truck on the freeway and damn thing was not tarped down tight enuff…needless to say, fracking loose stone flew smack into my windshield and left a chip right in the center of my field of vision…ugh..

Safelite replaced windshield all right as rain…
Nowadays, I make it a point to steer clear of all construction vehicles, lol…

Today I upgraded my roof top water tank. The old Super Quick Fist® mounts never worked very well so the tank would rotate or slide back and forth. Not a lot but enough to be a nuisance. Then one broke part way and it was time to revisit the whole problem of mounting the tank to the rack.

Now that I have a Prusa MK3S printer the solution was pretty straightforward.

    upload_2024-4-20_16-37-23.png

    Old Super Quick Fist mounts.

    upload_2024-4-20_16-39-22.png
    upload_2024-4-20_16-38-17.jpg

    New 3D printed mounts.
    IMG_0646.jpg

I want these to be as strong as possible so they are printed as a solid part weighing 360g or about 3/4 lb. per pair.
    IMG_0654.jpg

In the photo above you can see a scratch in the tank when it moved around on the old mount.

    IMG_0651.jpg

To siphon water I used a hose and black plastic beverage tap from my home brew stuff. I drilled a hole in a third threaded plug and ran the tubing through so it reaches the bottom of the inside of the ABS pipe. It holds about 12 Liters (3gal) of water. I was surprised by how handy this was & wish I'd thought of this years ago.

    upload_2024-4-20_16-42-2.png

    IMG_0653.jpg

The new mount is also smaller than the old mount, so it fits with the canoe on the truck. And because it is fastened more securely, I can just leave the tank on the truck all summer. I will get a lot more use out of this from now on.

Guys. I'm shopping around for spark plugs since I got about 500 miles to 60k. My local dealer has some plugs, 6 of them in fact, for this price. I cannot believe this price, I don't recall ever paying more than $20.00 for 8 plugs in all the years I have replaced plugs on my vehicles. Is this a good price? Should these be iridium at this price?
