Yeah, gotta hit the shackle hanger bolt up top. Center to center is the most ideal unless we math some for centers.

I absolutely love the fact that I can literally take measurements, via frame as a frame repair facility would and still be told I’m wrong. It’s absolutely glorious.

My super scientific version of my 5yr old holing the tape measure on the front spring bolt to the upper shackle bolt was 57/57 1/2" Thats taken just sitting in my parking spot.

Yeah, I can't get line of sight from the front hanger bolt to the rear hanger bolt because of the shock. That measurement is front hanger bolt to the leaf spring bolt which is 8" down and 4" back of the shackle bolt. I understand it's not nearly accurate enough for this conversation but even with a little center math we can see that I'm not >60" shackle to shackle. I'm definitely not in that ~53" sweet spot but I'm well under what you were getting and my wheelbase is 100% (technically 1/32 short ;) 131 31/32 on the laser).

Also note that I'm not running glass at all, my bedsides are totally stock and the wheel is dead center in the well.

I'm still thinking something is up with your frame or kit.

So we can pretty well say dang near same results in measurement as I had a difference of 3/8 and you had a difference of 1/2 between top and bottom holes.

you misunderstood my comment, I am referring just to the visual of a wheel being off center in an oe bedside vs aftermarket glass

I’m not saying your axle is not forward quite the opposite i’m saying that visually there is more wrong than just your wheelbase if you are saying you’re only 1” fwd ie: your glass is off center too

My frame was on a neighboring shops laser rack last fall as I was starting to believe I had a frame issue. My frame checks pretty well perfect.

Yeah, I believe you. I'm just not sure how your wheelbase can be off so much with this kit when mine definitely isn't.

Not going to say the glass couldn’t be off. But an actual laser frame rack said my rear axle was in fact forward. This is why I’m so rock solid on my statement.

@906taco see his wheel is dead perfect center in his glass bedsides with the same kit, so it can’t just be “ the kit “. This is what I have been driving at all along, the shorter wheelbase is not happening to everyone.

Then 100% my front hangers were manufactured wrong. Period. That is the ONLY other option. Every other aspect has been gone over 10x now.

Oh, not its more my 5yr wasnt holding it exactly steady to get a measurement.
I know @snowsk8air2 and I measured stuff at one point and it was where its supposed to be. If I remember right.

That was my other thought.. manufacturing defect in the kit. I'm sure it happens.

I'm also not running glass at all and my wheel is dead center in the stock well wells (in addition to the laser measurement but anyway). Pretty hard to argue that it's the SUA kit when it looks stock on stock bedsides.

Damn it. I removed that piece. I gotta figure out where I put it now. Any guesses on how much you took off?

Thought about this too, but didn’t wanna do it without verifying it was the issue. Ugh. If the eBay seller sent me what I bought I wouldn’t be in this mess.

IDK about that “ only “ bro, all that stuff is laser cut in huge batches and jigged etc so the probability of there being a bad batch is pretty slim and that front hangar isn’t a complex piece…

I see a couple other logical possibilities :

    1. Your entire argument assumes that there couldn’t possibly be any variance in the deaver springs when to me that seems like a probable scenario. spring arch alone could affect that dimension ie: have we assessed if the short wheel base issue is only happening with the H’s or HD’s ? or could it simply be a bad batch of springs ie: center pin loc drilled wrong ? i know you said you called deaver but ie: deaver could say the center pin is X inches from the center of the front wrap but x inches along one curve is not X inches along a different curve

    2. We know for a fact that there are 3 - 4 different versions of the gen 2 & 3 frame itself so ie: is it possible that with the hangars for the kit locating in oe holes that there is actually a variance in those holes ? in each variant of the frames there are overlap, rivet, C vs U section variants and there are definitely variations in the holes in the frames. That issue popped up around 09’ when “ no drill “ bolt on sliders wouldn’t just bolt on anymore. Everyone was bashing CBI etc saying their product sucked when in fact the frame had changed mid gen and the oe hole pattern had chamged

So you’re saying it should be a weld on kit and not bolt on. I agree.
