Nice work on the Comet and figures! I build mostly WWII armor, I have a HB King Tiget on the bench and it will be my first kit to include a crew. Happy modeling

Cool thread. It's been years since I've done any of these. But back in the early 90's, I had an accident with multiple follow up surgeries lasting 2+ years. All is good now. Pretty much put those college years on hold. I took up doing these models as a way to pass the time and to feel a sense of accomplishment between surgeries. Most were military in nature.

I live in a hobby store desert so I buy nearly everything online. Spruebrothers.com, Scalehobbiest.com or Andy's are my go to shops for everything modeling

Check out this facebook group. I run it with a few other guys. It's a classifieds group with auction based selling on weekends with over 26k members. I bought 90% of my kits from there when I was building more. Now I just moderate the group to make sure everything meets the group rules. Remember to answer ALL the questions when requesting to be added or you might get denied. Mention my name Jaysun to get added quicker. We are strict on the rules but that's required when you have hundreds of posts up per week.

Oh nice, didn't know you are a mod there. I've spent a crapload on the Graveyard. Best buy/sell group out there

It's a bottomless pit of spending, I've bought significantly more than I have sold on there but it helps liquidate the stash from time to time. Prices are normally relatively good and the bidding wars are always entertaining to watch.

My latest effort, the Hobby Boss KT. I still have to finish the weathering but I can see the finish line. 20240322_092724.jpg

My latest effort, a Tamiya Jadgtiger, sitting by the next build. I still have some weathering to do but it's getting close to the finish line.
I'm building the LC as a light "Technical" but haven't settled on which conflict. Replacing the ZSU-23-2 with a Russian SPG-9 Recoiless Riflee20240416_101933.jpg

Bought a vintage, unmade 20,000 Leagues (1954 Disney film) model by Comet. Hell of a thing. White metal (pewter/ish) parts. A hand-corrected instruction set. The heartfelt, homespun touches are something else. Can’t wait to build it. Plus…SQUIDSTAND!

My current build, definitely a WIP. Still have to add the windsheild, recoiless rifle and bits. Meng Land Cruiser building as a technical, somewhere in Africa 20240512_101538.jpg
