I'm at 107,500 miles so I thought it would be a good time to change the spark plugs (before it gets too hot and humid here in Florida). Wow what a job it was on the driver's side bank but, at 72, I got it done. Sore as hell this morning however. Did the plug change make a difference? In my opinion, it certainly did. The truck feels more responsive to pedal input now.

After about a year I could feel the indentation. I switched it out to a gel pad, it's been great since. I used a motorcycle pad like the one below, cut it to fit and done. If you are dead set on foam any high density foam will work. I would keep it under an inch, inch max to make sure you'll be able to get the cover back on correctly.

Link to the foam -- https://amzn.to/3xTgNOJ

    Thanks, apprecaite it.

nope. :( by the time i pulled over after the impact, the culprit disappeared faster than yelling 'free for the next 10 minutes!' in a crowded kohls.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I ordered a set of those a while back.

Got nothing! Not even a response from customer service or anyone to answer multiple phone calls.

    Vapour wear!

And they still send me promo e-mails. NOT A GOOD LOOK!

But I would go for a set of those inside braces.

Have you priced Rock Auto ? I get a lot of my parts from them, usually the best prices around. Also what is the torque setting for the plugs ?

Swapped the Predator steps out for some Clambers. They are about 2x heavier and pretty solid. No more ankle dings. Not doing anything trecherous enough to warrant legit sliders. These will at at least slide vs. catch on something in the creek.

spark plugs are one of the few things i don't get from rock auto. while it's not specific to rock auto, but i know of far too many stories of knockoff's or non-oem-spec plugs causing problems, especially with the newer coil-on-plug electronic setups that we've got these days.

plugs are one of the very few parts that i will go out of my way to buy from a dealer specifically to get the genuine product even if it costs twice as much. a big part of it is that it's not a small job to get to half them, so i don't want to need to fuss with them again outside of the standard service intervals.

i went through a spat during the early 2000's where i bought into all the gimmick marketing for the 'better/faster/cleaner' plug and wire setups for my then-90's distributer-equipped vehicles, and had absolutely nothing but problems until i changed back to good old boring oem plugs/wires.

Loaded it down with a bunch of oak. Splitter worked great. Truck towed pretty well. Might need to swap the leaf springs for a more beefy option.

I will certainly keep that in mind when it comes to plugs for my taco. I have, in the past gotten very good parts from Rock Auto and in many cases it was the exact same part that the dealer had at their parts counter except cheaper. But I can see on more primary important parts that are harder to install going with OEM regardless of price.

OTT tune day with Matt Miner in NH. He brought out his 4runner, and now I'm scheming how to afford that wheel and suspension setup.

The tune is everything people say about it. Well worth the money.

Replaced my 4wd selector knob with the AJT one, kinda of a PIA, but it looks much better now.

And I resprayed my cup holder trim piece with bedliner this time. See if that holds up better. Nevermind the dirt.

New stablemate. Traded in my wife's '13 RX450h. Wanted a 5th generation before they were all gone. Just needs an OTT tune and it'll be just what we were looking for.20240421_162247.jpg

I installed bed stiffeners. I'm unsure how much they will make a difference, but I did notice a visual difference. The stiffeners helped even out the gaps on each side between the tailgate and the side panels.
