    Years ago I had a cat who was much more like a dog, he was my little buddy for more than 15 years through some hard times.

    Hard as I tried a couldn't quite keep it together at the vet on that last day.

    Embarrassed, I said "I know he was just a worn out old cat..."
    The vet, a very nice girl, softly said "He was your friend".
