Wasn't the transmission reprogramming a TSB that fixed all years and with the reprogrammed trans the cruise control worked better?

And the power seat either made you sit even lower or hit your head if raised it for a normal seating height.

My opinion, not significant upgrades ... and yet many traded in for those changes. The gen4 has significant upgrades so I expect a lot of gen3 owners will trade up sooner rather than later.

Depends on your height. I’m 5’10”.

As far as the 4th gen is concerned, I’m looking forward to buying one.

I had two 3g and just bought a 4g I pick it up next Sat. I was in Halifax this week where I bought my truck yes I made a deal before driving it and drove their demo. For me the big thing is seating position and it was way better. I will say the sound is very different it kind of sounds like a diesel or farm tractor. The torque was very easy to notice the difference. Getting excited to go pick it up next Saturday.

I wonder if the MAX system can be disabled from the cab.

I’d love to test drive a MAX Taco and run her both with and without the hybrid system engaged.

I wasn’t a fan of the exhaust sound. I’ll go so far as to say there’s a design flaw in the exhaust system.

Why don't you just test drive the standard iforce and iforce hybrid max? I'm sure we will see plenty of videos comparing them and I'm betting the fast lane truck will do a 0-60 between the 2.

Even hypothetically if you could get the iforce max and turn it off, you're then dealing with all the added weight of the hybrid system. It would end up being worse than a non hybrid.

Sheldon talked about the Pro having enhanced engine sounds and that other sound files are/would be available. Tundras with JBL have ESE (enhanced engine sounds) and ANC (active noise cancelation) settings. Not sure if this will be a Pro only option, a MAX option, or a JBL upgrade option on the Tacomas.

I guess artificial engine sounds were more important than engineering a larger gas tank. Way to go Chief.

I can understand range anxiety with electric vehicles because of current availability and charging times, but with an ICE?. A new Tacoma getting 24 hwy (many videos showing it does better) means you will get about 360mi. At 75mph that is almost 5 hours. Maybe it's because I'm older, but do yourself a favor and after 4-5 hours get out, stretch your legs, and refill the tank. If the tank was last years 21gal, you'd be happy because you could drive for an extra hour?

Shoot I wish my bladder would hold out that long

Hand calculated when I filled up this morning on mine. 25.6. Mostly rural driving though.

Its scenarios like longer distance towing; headwind/elevation gains, etc. where the reduced range becomes a PITA. I'm in these scenarios not infrequently. Also, it probably means fueling up every 6 days instead of every 7 during normal usage. Terrible? No, but the reduced fuel tank capacity is a net negative for the vehicle.

Don’t be so hard on Sheldon. He insists that they base truck development very closely on feedback from current owners.

Shortly after I bought my ‘18, I received an owner survey. Admittedly, I thought it would be “funny” to request….fake fart engine sounds combined with an 18gal fuel tank. Honestly I never believed they’d take me seriously. Sorry, but probably no use in complaining about it now. If you decide to block me, I understand.

Design-by-committee is exactly what you don't want.

I seriously doubt owners said they need smaller gas tanks.

No, but I guess longer range didn't make the list either and the new Tacoma has exactly the same range.
