The 1 MPG (combined) gain, if its actually real, is not going to offset a 3-gal fuel reduction. Maybe the hybrid will have a better gain, but it didnt for the Tundra.

Edit: window sticker for 2024 Off-Road hybrid state 22/24/23 MPG. So, I guess that gets you close to the range of a Gen3.

I wonder if Topher waited to test drive the iForce Max Tacoma before picking this up.

He should have test driven the iForce Max Tacoma by now, and is probably just waiting for the embargo to lift to post his video.

    I'm thinking the same thing.

I have to be honest: I haven't completely ruled out the Raptor.

I only wish they made an unlifted TT-V6 for mortal drivers like me. Lots of innovation in that truck to be sure. However, Ford made a mistake in not offering the electrified Ranger in the U.S. Hope they change their mind.

I'm definitely leaning Tacoma both because I blindly trust Toyota more, and I just prefer the Tacoma's looks and features.

The Raptor Ranger does have my attention though as it looks great and the performance is great. Seeing the Landcruiser's performance numbers, I entirely doubt the TRD Pro can hang with the Raptor's 3.0 V6.

I suspect that Taco MAX and Raptor will be neck-and-neck on the back roads but on the open highway, Rapors will be passing Tacos.

Same range with more power. To add, the Tacoma Max variant will get even more power and more range.

I suspect the power diff will negligible and the Taco Max will be passing the Ranger Raptor on the open highway due to the weight diff. I also suspect the Taco Max will get much better MPG than the R.Raptor that gets 17 combined.

One thing I noticed in the video, or rather, did not notice, was the "lack of tech". Where, specifically, does Taco outshine Raptor on terms of tech?

The Raptors suspension looks to be a little more thought out...that will equal speed in the bumpy bits...

Perhaps slightly longer travel and the watts set up in the rear. Pro has the stabilizer disconnect and rear jounce dampers. I think they both are well thought out but will perform slightly differently. Better/worse depending on the application.

The mix of digital and physical buttons is odd, Fords latest full size is the same way on certain trims. I liked the digital temp display on the knobs, but it's not necessary and I prefer full physical controls where ever possible.
