Bed Accessory Rails Not Included on all 4th Gen models?

I saw a picture this morning on FB of a 2024 without the accessory rails in the bed.

It looks like they replaced it with a plastic plug:



Since 2005 the accessory rails have been included on every single variation of the Tacoma, we have never seen one without it until now.

Has anybody here taken delivery of a 4th gen without the rails?

 

Full size spare... rear window... and now this... no idea why toyota decided to cost cut so much and raise the msrps by 20%

i have an sr5, has rails & all the hold-down points...

cost of materials is what is driving all of this. Right now our cost to build a bed rack is what we formally would sell it for.
