Got the tailgate ladder installed today. Took about a half hour, all told. Hardest part was psyching myself for drilling into the tailgate. Sheet metal screws are a little on the small side, but the mount doesn't really see much force anyway. I put butyl tape under all the screws, to seal out moisture. Not really impressed with the stowage strap, and I may make something different, but I'll see how it goes. If it rattles, it will drive me nuts. It might just be a matter of sticking some foam tape to the ladder section. Ladder itself is plenty sturdy enough, and I added grip tape to the rungs. I believe the HF version already has it.

Overall, for 40 bucks, it's worth it to keep me from breaking my neck getting into the bed.

Moved into my new series 3 27" chest and top box, ordered them a few weeks ago with the 15% off coupons. The five drawer on the right is almost emptied out now (and will be soon filled back up as I empty some plastic tubs on other shelving into it). I gotta say, I liked the latches on the series two better than the full length on the series one. They're stiff and hard to fully engage, they feel like the plastic is bending before it's releasing.

Again, appreciate you sending me that!

And even though their dumb coupons don't allow online orders, I said screw it and just ordered it anyway.

    New air dryer incoming.

Right on, dry air is good.

And no worries. I have benefited many times from your knowledge drops in the 1st gen discussions. Just trying to pay it back.

If you shop a lot at harbor freight.
Despite some people arguing, or actual even if there were strides at their tool quality, I’m not trading my 1000s of dollars of Dewalt and Milwaukee tools for HF.

Point being, there’s only certain things I personally buy from there, and I suppose the biggest point is, it’s not that often. So for me it’s not worth it. Especially as I still receive coupons on the regular.

Some guys only have Harbor Freight stuff…they might disagree.

I think they are ok for basic hand tools- breaker bars, open end/box wrenches, sockets ( icon or Pittsburgh pro line).. I'd invest in DeWalt all day for power tools.. I stocked up on Hitachi but it looks they went under.

Sure, but my examples wasn’t to illustrate that I like my tools. It’s to illustrate that at least half the store is worthless (to me) and that to someone like me, it wouldn’t be worth purchasing discount membership for that reason.

The one or two items a year I get doesn’t payback the money spent in the membership. For me, anyways.

Hitachi in name is still around. They’re under Metabo HPT ( Hatachi power tools) but, yeah, No more made in Japan stuff. Hitachi did buy out Metabo, but wanted to keep the companies separate or from what I heard.

For me it is. I waited until I needed to buy something that was on ITC coupon and it basically paid for itself in that one transaction.

If you’re going to buy it, wait to buy until you’re buying something on ITC sale.

If you got several family or friends, you can loan them your phone number. HF doesn't care and never checks for ID. Increases the number of peeps who can save.

Can confirm. I have an uncle who used to be a regional VP with them. He said their average profit margin is around 60% on their products. They're still making money even if you stack every coupon and discount possible.

They do, but it's different. They don't do the blanket 20% off all the time like they used to, though.

I bought a 27" top and bottom the other month using a 15% off no exclusions. What model are you looking at? Lots of times the % offs they send exclude tool storage, so you have to wait for the no exclusions ones. With series 3 being brought in they've been doing good deals on the series 2 stock they have left, too.

hfqpdb.com is also a good place to look up the item # and you can see any current, expired, or price history on the item and keep an eye out for future price drops.
