Hey guys! Long story short, was backed into this morning and the front bumper valence was damaged. The gentleman who did it was absolutely kind and professional in every way and felt horrible.

I need to replace it. Is it difficult to do? That and the license plate holder was the only thing damaged. Everything else is fine.

    thank you - :)

you don’t need the license plate holder, 2 small holes, 2 sheet metal screws along with 2 washers will hold the license plate very well. I think it looks better flat anyway.

People remove those things from new SR5's all the time so it couldn't be that hard. I bet you can find a like new one on FB marketplace!

My mistake I didn’t mean the valance, I meant the license plate holder. You really don’t need to buy one as per my previous comment.

Get a few more quality posts and start a new post in the BST forum... I gave mine away to an individual that lost theirs offroad in a water crossing. Someone will sell you one cheap... people take them off for aftermarket bumpers all the time.

Agree with last poster...all of this wasted real estate stumbling over descriptions that turn out to be wrong: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words.

OP just take a picture of the damaged piece on your car. Don't worry about the license plate number it's publicly visible to drivers anyway.

You should be able to detach it still on by getting to the underside of the bumper - its held on by plastic clips that you have to indent to pop out - probably like 8-10 of them around the long sides. then on both of the far short sides there's a metal clip to detach. The plastic clips are burly so it'll take a little elbow grease. A plastic trim tool would be helpful

No, you don't need to remove the grille. Just grip it and rip it. Don't worry about breaking clips, if you're replacing it anyways.

Plenty of YouTube videos out there...
