Canucks took a win in the first game, came back in the third with 2 goals within 12 seconds of each other. Empty netter sealed it.

 

I'm about to watch their replays next, just finished watching replays of the Avs/Jets game...holy crap. Jets barely had 20 shots on goal and scored 7 times, Colorado fought to the last min and nearly tied it but fell short 6-7. Crazy game for a playoff match

The NHL is now dubbing in a bunch of fake crowd noise to smother the goal music in the arenas. Rumor is youtubes scrubbing them for copyright violations on the music. Very distracting and annoying but it is what it is.

You know the NHL and teams pay for the right to use the music so not sure why it's an issue.

 

I'm glad I felt the need to check my tank's pH levels today; my tap water and tank both sat around a 7.4 which is great for a large range of fish

It's a healthy level for bacteria as well to thrive in

Never having owned live plants in an aquarium before, I knew they'd help with hardness by taking in nutrients, but also keeping nitrates lower

Well, pH levels got way too low at 6.5 which could stall and possibly, crash my cycling

Had to do a water change so I shot for 25% and added ammonia

Will do another water change tomorrow depending on test levels

Fishless cycling is stupid easy but didn't realize the plants can prompt water changing sooner than later (for the bacteria)

 

I am a little guarded also. I think if QB and PLD play to their potential then the kings will win this series.
If they can win game 1 or 2 that's going to put them in a really good spot. Also minimal power plays for Edmonton. Kings in 6.

Yeah the law of averages does put us in favor of winning this series since Edmonton took the last 2 seasons'. And we are stronger than we were last year *if* like you said, we get certain guys to step up. I think that includes Talbot too, he's been kind of hot/cold this season so hopefully he comes in and stays hot in goal. I'm assuming they are going with him as #1 anyhow.

 

I keep seeing fans on social media talking about how we should "remember 2012" when the Kings won the Cup as an 8th seed team, but I don't see the comparison at all to this squad. The 2012 team was way more gritty and physical and used that to literally steamroll their way through every opponent to the Cup. And when the other team got good chances, we had Quick in goal in his prime. I can't draw any real similarities between then and now. But hey, I'd love to be proven wrong if they do it.

 

I have been eyeing that unit, but man I need to clean my space first.

 

Well if the kings beat the oilers, there's a chance they will face the Canucks and that's quite a match up. Gonna be hands thrown in this thread

haha yeah their 1st round meeting between the two in 2012 was a wild ride. I don't think they've met in the post season since then, would be a fun one to watch

 

What area of the city is that in? I didn’t know KC was that bad! When I was there we went to Cafe Corazón on 43rd and Bell and the Nelson museum and it all seemed really nice. I’ve even been looking for jobs there. We did go to some neighborhoods that seemed a little blighted, but the worst I saw was a couple guys doing donuts at an intersection on ATVs.

 

They are definitely not the 2012 kings. The only big similaritie is no one thinks they can win. I would love to see them get to play Vancouver in the second round.
