Bet if it was real steel you wouldn't be replacing it. Or replacing it again in a little parking lot hit.

Replaced my rear with 1/4" steel and already proved itself. Don't know about the other person, only saw their paint on one corner, hehe.

Front steel is next on my list.

I plan to replace mine with an aluminum or steel bumper, but I think when recommending this mod to someone one should include the disclaimer that such mod has the propensity to negatively affect the crash dynamics of the automobile. Fender benders are one think and 65mph front end collisions are another thing.

I'll take real steel on either end at any speed and feel sorry for the dip (them and their auto ) that didn't know how to drive at any speed who hits me. AT 65mph I definately want more steel than plastic.

I say let THEIR auto absorb the energy of the crash, not mine. All that energy has to go somewhere...let it be right back on them...like hitting a stout tree...they rarely move and show little damge too.

Ty guys. I’m all set now, in retrospect I should have dug deeper into this. I’m buying one OEM in the future, in the meantime there are only 2 clips broken and it’s still solid. I’m replacing the license plate and the license plate holder and moving on.

Oh, don’t put that dorky looking boxy thing on the front to hold a license plate, I’d give you mine, but I tossed it. Oh well, have fun!

I have a license plate holder I bought from someone here who manufactures them that mounts so you dont have to drill the holes thru that panel you are replacing if you're interested. I'm also in NH.
