I don’t live where it snows (other than a rare fluke storm). 4A seems like a good idea for snow but less than half the country gets any meaningful snow. Don’t think I need it, definitely not a deal breaker but might be nice to have. It’s available on the Limited Max and LC, so I wonder why it isn’t included in the Pro/TH or optional on other models.

Just test drove one and the low end torque is awesome. I declined getting my 3g appraised, as I don't think there's a better looking truck on the market. However, the 4g are a lot of fun for sure

Taking bets on the cost difference between a TRD Hybrid w/upgrade package being within $1,000 of a TRD w/Premium package? Do I hear $2,000?

I hope pricing is released tomorrow. Maybe the configuration will even go live tomorrow.

I think it’s worth noting that the raptor has significantly worse articulation.

I wonder what happens when each respective truck is lifted. The Taco would move in an arc. My understanding of the watts link is it requires precise locations of the links to function properly. What happens when locations move when lifting? Maybe suspension gurus can chime in.

Most quality lifts replace the link arms with different lengths to correct for such problems. Knowing that the new suspension concepts aren’t really new in Toyotas (4R, tundra, etc) or fords (global ranger), I’m sure quality manufacturers will adapt quickly.

Every quality lift is “money out of your wallet.” Just enjoy your 33s on it at stock height instead.

I haven’t seen the numbers for the trd pro or TH, but to put it in perspective the ranger raptor their halo trim has worse articulation than a stock 24 trd off-road. The TH and Pro have a 2inch lift over the off-road. That should boost their articulation numbers even higher. The point is I don’t think it was a design decision to limit articulation because it’s a Baja focused truck, I think it must just be an inherent limitation of the platform. Articulation is important even for dessert focused trucks like the Pro or raptor. I think the Tacoma will be more capable in that regard.

It sounds like it significantly complicated things. I suppose everything has an opportunity cost. The watts link in the raptor will offer better performance at the cost of complexity and $$$ when it comes time to replace components or lift it. But apparently added complexity is only a problem if Toyota does it.

So the same Hwy and 3 better city over the non hybrid. I'm guessing 1 or 2 less for the trd pro and TH versions. I hope that it really makes a difference in the power or I don't think it will be worth it for me. I think the tundra vs tundra hybrid is about .5 quicker for 0-60. That may not be enough

The hybrid system is only going to mitigate the turbo lag. Nothing more.

It does far more than that. It adds 48hp and >100lb-ft of torque. I don’t know why you keep repeating this
