HELP: Is this a spacer lift on my truck?

On the weekend I replaced my old shocks with Bilsteins 5100s. I am pretty much learning mechanics as I go with truck (thanks to this forum) and I do not have an idea what the stock suspension looks like.

I installed the 5100s on the middle setting and my truck seems a touch high in the front. Please have a look at the pics below and let me know whether that block on the top of my springs is for a spacer lift?? Or is it normal.

Yes that is referred to as a coil spacer. It preloads the spring to achieve lift.

Next question. To remove these is there something else that I have to put in its place? Or can I just take out the suspension again, compress coils take out shocks take out spacer then put shocks back in coil as is?

 

That's because the stock shocks are not valved to properly dampen the stiffer spring.

you need a top plate. but yes they come out...and use them as a paperweight, about as useful as they are...

He can re-use the top plate he has on there though.

Yea you can see a top plate is there and he can use that one. I think my spacer was on top of the plate but still rode like crap.

 

I have a spacer lift... it rode stiff until I upgraded shocks and struts... now its smooth again.

 

Thanks. Are top plates sold separate? Or have to get from dealership?

Well hopefully this time around I am a lot quicker at removing my shocks than i was last saturday. I had the biggest suspcion it was a spacer too.. shit. Another $100 for allignment.

Yes the handling is not the best to say the least.
