I can think of a couple of fab shops and tubers. But, lose interest as soon as I do. Need to logoff. Just put down a deposit on a cap. Too antsy.

    Well:

    1. The Tundra engineer explained the system as exactly that a few years ago.
    2. The size of the battery would indicate that it's limited to that duty.
    3. The reviews of the people who have driven it (in both Taco and LC form) align with it.

1)The tundra engineer never said it only prevented/replaced/lessened turbo lag
2)the battery provides >3min of max output in the Tacoma application, which is a lot more than turbo lag time
3)every review suggests that it’s faster throughout, and measured tundra times back that up.

    please stop this nonsense

    1. It adds over 100Ib-ft torque at 0 rpm as well as filling in the turbo lag, you are being selective with the information.

    2. I have driven both the I force and I force max in the tundra. The boost from the electric motor is noticeable, anybody who doesn’t notice a sizable performance difference shouldn’t be in the position to review powertrains.

    3. Are there max Tacoma reviews yet? The LC only comes in the hybrid so they would have no comparison to the regular 2.4l in that platform. And most of the reviews I’ve seen have been pleased with the performance.

OK. 3 minutes. And how long does it take to recharge to the point where you'd get another 3 minutes?

My bet is that you’ve never used absolute max power RPM at full throttle for 3 minutes in your driving life

If it’s a symmetrical 48hp motor-generator, the same 3 mins. Depending on battery charge acceptance, of course

The battery will get recharged by regenerative braking as well.

But what if I need to drive uphill at full throttle and 5000rpm for 10 hours without taking my foot off the gas at all?

I wonder if there are like gauges and shit to tell you how much battery is left and whether or not you are using boost.

The only place I ever remember driving uphill continuously for more than 5 minutes straight is the west side of the Eisenhower tunnel. Traffic sucks so much there that I doubt people can even do that now anymore.
I laugh at some of these arguments people make here though!

The 22/24/23 number for the hybrid is disappointing; but its the only game in town for mid-size electrification. And if you want/need a 6-ft bed...what choice do I have? I'll take a hard look when the time comes; hopefully Ford or someone else brings in some competition.

You can get an F-150 hybrid with better HP, better torque, better towing, and better MPG than the 2024 Tacoma hybrid, so expecting better than 22/24 in a mid-size hybrid is not unreasonable.
