Lets see that Nissan since it happens to be the only one of the two that is currently driveable.

Definitely a factory human assembler error. It doesn't take an engineer to fix a coolant leak but I know dealers need to make money on "repairs" and would rather order a new part than simply slap on a new clamp to retighten. My tire shop down the street could've fixed it in a few hours but now I need to wait a month for replacement parts.

Adding new coolant pipes to my mod list.

Holding a phone and taking pics in a middle lane.

And everyone wonders why insurance is getting so expensive.

The old style works on old metal outlets, but with all the newer stuff being plastic outlets they will definitely fracture.

Even on metal outlets, they still leak far more than the continuous pressure styles. There’s a reason the original claim mentioned just twisting a tool…because you have to in order to stop the leaks that always happen. There’s a reason OEMs stopped using them

If your state is like most that allow you to apply the lemon law when it has been in the shop for 30 days. I would imagine that if you politely mention that to the dealer that the parts will arrive closer to the 2.5 weeks than the month.

The worm-type clamps back off over time.

    The spring clamps don't

    Easy choice for a manufacturer

Yeah, the constant tension clamps will "tighten" on their own.
I wasn't a fan of them when they first came out. But it was my ignorance.
I will say, the damn manufactures always turn them to where you can not get a set of pliers on them.
So.......More money spent. I bought the tool for them.

I've got a few clamp grabber/plier tools. Totally worth the money.

Pro tip: spraying some brake cleaner on the rubber hose helps you slide the clamp into position. Then it evaporates and doesn't leave anything behind

If they did leak, a simple turn would fix it. Never had to replace them, unless they rusted. I would recommend to the OP not do anything and let Toyo fix it (which he is doing) so warranty isn't an issue.

They do leak, and you can often fix the leak by twisting it. That’s not an OEM-level solution to a problem

Bummer. Can't imagine why it would take so long to fix.

About clamps, I've always preferred the crimp style, though they are single use.

    These ones work well too:

I've not had any issues with the spring clamps. The Ideal worm clamps are ok, though I rarely use them for automotive work.

+1 on the crimp clamps, no flat spots like most worm screw clamps.

Seems like an easily accessible location, not like the crossover pipe on the 3.5L... :cookiemonster:
