I hedged my bet and put down the $100 reservation on the R2 day #2. We've had a Tesla Model 3 Long Range since 10/18. Replaced the tires, 12v battery (for the brain), 3 windshields (My wife likes to drive behind gravel trucks)
and nothing else so far. My spouse of 45 years has a tendency to break things....Tesla has survived so far!

That is awesome! Have a couple customers that have Teslas, said they haven’t had to do too much maintenance wise other than tires.

There is quite the resistance among the masses against EVs, believe when more people own them and see how easier their lives become, gassers will soon be forgotten.

I want to convert, just isn’t quite there yet. Soon…

This video is a pretty good range test running all of the electric trucks to zero. The Chevy is pretty impressive doing well over 400 miles followed by the Rivian, Cyber Truck and the Lightning falling way short. If these trucks can all start putting out range like the Chevy then we are getting somewhere. Meanwhile the new Tacoma’s range is getting worse with its tiny fuel tank.

    Was looking at Ford’s (again!)

Notice there are some heavy discounts on the Lightning.

The new Tacoma isn't an EV

It isn’t, however comparing range I get it. 400 is about the sweet spot for my needs. 500 I would be over the moon.

New taco has a 18 gallon tank, 15 actual usable in reality. For the heavy marketing of it being an “adventure truck”, that is dismal. Of course most of the instagrammers who buy the damn thing are mostly posers, so I guess it will work… :p ;)

Probably because their actual range is so far from what they claim. Seems like pretty blatant false advertising.

It’s seem like most people are only getting 20 mpg stock. That’s only 300 miles before the gas light comes on. What’s it going to be with bigger tires and loaded up with gear?

Yeah that is pretty shitty. My 1st Gen has a 18 gallon tank, it gets 15-17 mpg depending, it is a pain the ass…always stopping for fuel.

Seems silly spending $50-60K on a truck and have the range be terrible. Tundra you have the option of 22 or 32. No options in the 4G, other than aftermarket.

I get 385-400 regularly in my 3rd Gen and was absolutely thrilled coming off the 1G.

That is one thing I like about EVs, being able to charge at home and not having to deal with hitting a gas station. I am usually there every week or week and a half depending. It was twice a week in my ‘99.

Apparently shirtless with a high chance of ass-jackery… (when I submarine my gasser, I am pulling the plug and pumping water out of the head, that is if it didn’t bend the rod, so this aspect of an EV is fucking cool!)

So you trade a truck that will still be around in 20 years for something that will disappear five years from now when Rivian goes out of business or is folded into some other corporation as part of a bankruptcy settlement.

Any other brilliant predictions with the crystal ball of yours? Need advice on a penny stock that will be worth hundreds in the next ten years please.

You can buy Tesla stock stock right now, because their supercharger network infrastructure is the only viable means of actually charging your electric car outside of the house and at least in the US daddy Musk doesn’t have to play nice with other manufacturers.

Rivian and Lucid are either going to be sold off for pennies to the major car and truck manufacturers or they’re just going to disappear leaving their owners with 8000 pound bricks and no aftermarket parts.

You must have missed that there are more DC fast chargers that aren't owned by Tesla than there are Tesla Superchargers.
