Lol, you just keep believing what they write.

Reality is unless you have a Tesla you’re gonna be fighting Polecat and Lightning owners for one of the few EVgo chargers that may top you off enough for 50 miles in the 20 minutes you have for a lunch break.

And you base this on what experience? As an owner of a Rivian R1T who never used a Tesla charger and drove all over the middle of the country I can confidently say that you are full of shit.

    I live in California.

You’re not charging your Rivian anywhere here. The public chargers in parking lots are full. EVgo is slow or packed. Or both.

You must have carefully planned your trip since my neighbor who has matching Rivian SUV and truck can only reliably charge them at home.

He borrowed my 200 series the last time we had a power outage.

They can charge at home. If people can't then they shouldn't buy an EV. Those that buy an EV without looking at the current charger infrastructure near them are also obviously bad at math. Bashing an EV company for people making bad decisions is odd.

Tesla has 6913 superchargers in CA, the other companies combined have 4457. Making trips is not quite as easy as just getting in an ICE vehicle and stopping at any corner gas station but it only takes a couple minutes to check on what chargers are available in the areas you're going through. No different really than driving a fuel thirsty Tacoma through remote areas where you have to check on gas stations prior to going.

But when you buy an EV, they will tell you you can charge it at home or anywhere you go and there’s lots of charging stations which just isn’t the truth. And not everyone has a home and even here in California they’re not too excited about making charging available at apartments and condos anymore now that the average person has realized that trickle charging through a 110V 10 amp outlet isn’t enough.

Well that's why people need to research their driving area and where they can charge BEFORE buying an EV. The infrastructure is being built every day. When gas cars were first gaining popularity not everyone got one because gas stations didn't exist near them. So they stuck to the horse and buggy until then. Right now the ICE cars are the horse and buggy to the EV.

Now that the pricing for the new TRD Pro Tacoma has come out at $65K the R1T is looking like a much better deal. Vehicle pricing has gone absolutely insane.

honestly I just wish the rivian truck/suv didn't look like a sturgeon, I drive one 4 days a week for work and its fast, smooth, and quiet.

someone crashed this one into a mailbox on Sunday, supposedly the quote to fix is $70k after rivian replaces the panel followed by paint and wrap

How often do you have to charge the vans? Can you make it the whole day on one charge?

They get plugged in at the end of the night. The range is 140 miles so they are only sent to urban areas without too much of a commute to ensure they make it back everyday without problems

You actually get a useable backseat and a bunch of storage too unlike the new pro.

I did a quick Photoshop of the R1S to see what it would look like with horizontal headlights.

The round would look better but I’m used to the oval now and don’t mind them much anymore.
