Hard not to like the TrailHunter, but I don’t overland so, not qualified to offer an opinion on comparing a $65k TH w/warranty versus paying someone to build over a stripped OR.

Would love to hear from a legit overlander here though, b/c every Toyota rep says TrailHunter is based on what you said you wanted at events.

And where does this leave the 4Runner TrailHunter, $70k?

I'm surprised no TFL videos are up yet.

I was expecting to see them priced the same, guess the video game seats are the difference.

The two vehicles are designed for different purposes although both do well overall. You answered your own question.

What trim will, in theory, have the nicest on-road drive (excluding the Limited)?

    Thanks.

That would cost me ~$56k the way I would configure it (MAX plus highest TRD package).

I wonder if a Pro would really be $10k "better".

I'm not even sure what I would get for that $10k. Different suspension and Space Shuttle seats?

I'd guess better resale value, they don't seem to build as many as other trims.

From what I’ve read, the limited will have an AWD version along with the current 4WD system.

I might have to price that one out with upgrades I want, like snorkel, a different grill and figure what can be done with the suspension since it has an Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) linear-solenoid-type system (adjusts damping based on road conditions)

I’ve got a post somewhere around here where I called it the higher located air intake, if that helps

but yes, it’s not a snorkel for going through water.

From what I've read (no firsthand experience) the OR will have a plusher on road ride. Sport is tuned for a slightly firmer ride, better cornering. Several people have said they can definitely feel the bumps with Sport
