The Pro prices now make me really really want a Ranger Raptor, even if I get to know my service writer on a first name basis.

But why do I have this feeling that Ford will soon raise its base over $60k? Thanks Toyota…

Fords dealer waiting lounges are pretty nice, which is a good thing, because I guarantee you'll be spending alot of time there when you buy your ranger

What’s so bad about First name basis with a service advisor? I’ve had the same service advisor at Lexus for 18 years

Maybe. My guess is that full 465 will not always be available on demand, especially when towing. The 500 lb reduced towing capacity is also there to consider.

That’s because the msrp was always really close to transaction price. We shall see how it’ll happen on the new gen …. But we’re the 2016 Tacomas 10% off 3 months post launch ?

It does have both heated and ventilated seats. When I said "cool seats", I was referencing the TRD Pro seats. :)

Well I did have ‘16 Tacoma so I know what that’s like: my wife thought I was seeing other people & and the coffee was awful. I hear the Ford dealer down the street at least has a Michelin rated chef.

I’m a Toyota homer, but right now for me at least, it would be Ranger + $8000.00 for the win.

Ah my bad. I didn’t realize the TRD Pro was only available in hybrid configuration (I figured the hybrid was an “upsell”). Still, 65k is within an arm’s reach of 70k…which is insane for a midsize truck, any way you look at it.

Adjusted for inflation a $65k Tacoma in 2024 is a $51k Tacoma in 2017. People were paying prices close to that range for Pros when they were released in 2017 and you could easily argue that the upgrades for the 4th gen are worth the added money.

You can argue anything you want. Do you know what isn't adjusted for inflation? Income. The percentage of people that can buy an 80k car is very low. And the ones that do aren't buying Toyotas. And the ones that buy Toyotas aren't looking for 80K cars.

I have a hold on a TRD Pro. I'm canceling it. I may look at an Off Road but even that seems high.

Honestly at these prices I'll get a Porsche

I hate these inflation analogies. The trucks are expensive. Too expensive.

Not arguing anything or saying incomes increased to match inflation, just pointing out that when you look at the value of the actual dollars spent on the trucks they aren't much different.

For those arguing the 4th gen Tacoma is more reliable than ranger raptor I dare you to look at the 3rd gen tundra forum and have the same sentiment (hint the 3rd gen tundra forum is plagued with complaints of shit quality build and bearings imploding around the 20k mile mark)

I don’t know how much people typically paid for 2017 TRD Pros when they first came out, but MSRP was $40,760 for MT and $42,760 for AT, which is $51,936 and $54,485 (respectively) in 2024 dollars.
