I’m doing the bumper light bar mod - got the harness, bar, and switch, but I need L brackets. Can anyone sell me some of their scrap aluminum, or fab some brackets? I will pay for shipping thank you

Before I found a great local metal supplier, I used to buy small quantities of alloy online from https://www.metalsdepot.com/ Cheaper than HD or Lowes, but not cheaper than a good local place. Most of time a local place wont sell short pieces, etc.. Anyway, that's gonna be your most reliable bet, as opposed to hoping someone has scrap they'll ship you.

    This.

Bet the OP can find tons of scrap for free; I give away between 100-200lbs of metal scrap each month.

No one knows, you're the one making the brackets so only you would know.

We don't know what way you wish to mount them or what lights you have.

    Here's what I'll do -

Use some cardboard, and make some templates for creating a "mount" setup for your light.

    Post them here, with dimensions.

I'll scrounge up some steel and cut a few pieces for ya, just pay shipping. I'll do this cause I'm assuming it won't be much steel and it'll consist of mainly 4-6 pieces of flat stock with a few holes in it.

Might wanna take a picture and annotate (draw on it) or draw a picture of what you're thinking, or find a picture of something existing on the internet that you're trying to copy.

I don't really know where to start...

On my truck, I have "hidden" fog lights built into my OEM bumper- I made the brackets with 16ga plate. If I were supporting a light bar or something else, I would design it differently.

Are there any videos on which parts of the bumper need to be disassembled for a lightbar installation on a first GEN?

Can’t find a good write up thread on installation, only the parts people bought

It takes less than 5 minutes to remove your bumper

    Literally

Just go to it, and you'll find two bolts per side
