That panel won't make as loud of a bang...

We had a 480V 25HP VFD completely explode one time. That was loud...

The interesting part is it initially took out the whole panel so we had to turn off each VFD and reset the panel. Put on arc flash gear and turn them all on one by one till BOOM!

 

Me: well circut breaker didnt pop and switch/outlet works. Win!

 

I've heard rumors that I might get to work on the 8hp later today.. well see

 

She’d blow quiet, it’s got anywhere from 12vdc to 24vdc to 120vac in it. We tried to get them to eliminate the 12v but what do we know

Bought some used camper levelers, one has been torqued and it’s driving me nuts!

 

Update on 8hp as of today:

Issue- won't rev. In or out of gear

Done so far- (assume all passed) spark, compression, leakdown, fuel sample. Pulled lower unit and verified exhaust clear, timing verified, carb job, tried known good carb coil and cd box, shop fuel tank and fuel line assembly.

So far nothing has made a difference or shown bad.

 

@six5crèéd these plates are kinda neat, butts up under the joist. Decorative but also strengthens the connection. It 2 pieces the nut just sits in the plate and the 5" wood screw goes in the middle. Lowes has them by where all the stimson strong ties stuff are. Just giving more tips, its not required. But does look nice.

 

I know zip about boats - Is the timing advance controlled mechanically or electronically?

 

The cd box controls that.

 

So it starts and idles healthy but won't rev in forward, neutral or reverse? The throttle cable definitely isn't stretched or disengaged right. Even trying to throttle from the where the cable meets the body you get nothing?

Maybe your throttle button lever/gears inside are stripped or broken and free spinning. That's just the first thing that popped into my head.
